But thats not the point FPF usually says where Scolari is going to be and besides that Scolari as the NT coach wouldn´t just go to the Dragão, buy the ticket and seat near the Super Dragões... or any FC Porto fan without being noticed...

What's the point here, and why do we care?

With the exception of Baia, has he not called all other deserving Porto players to the NT?

And as far as Baia goes, you know were I stand:D

that's not the point: it's his Lies! Why is it that he has never gone to a Porto game at the Dragao?! Don't you find that a bit strange?

No need to go to Porto, the up and coming Portuguese talent doesn't play there...and besides Ricardo Costa...who would make the NT currently...

While understanding your point, those players had secure spots on the NT. So why go to the Dragao? His time would be better spent watching some of the other players in the Superliga...

Not to mention if he actually went to the Dragao, he would have to talk to PDC:D

Scolari was stubborn til the very end w/ Maniche... had he watched him LIVE in some matches at the Dragao, he probably would have been convinced to include him the lineup earlier. Oh, and BTW, the same applies for Ricardo Carvalho  !

His super powers include remote viewing..oh wait that's what TV does. Unless he uses a disguise (unlikely :rolleyes ), i'm willing to bet he would be noticed easily in the crowd. There is no way he showed up for 10 games. He should just come out and say he watches the players on video

One word ,your president is nothing but a negative influence in the peace that the national team needs,This Man wants all the attention to himself....

We should consider ourselves lucky to have Scolari.Never once had we reached a final of a major competition, what else do we want from Scolari?

who cares what scolari does aslong as he does a good job with the national team. European final and almost certainly in the 06 World Cup, Up until now he has done a good job.

we're talking about Scolari, not PDC, leave him out of this thread. The point here I'm trying to make is that it's obvious he's got something against Porto. Had he been in more Porto games last season before the Euro2004 and not have been so stubborn (This Man wants all the attention to himself...), he would've known to put on the field from the beginning the best team possible. That meant R. Carvalho instead of F. Couto, and the midfield that everyone was calling out as the obvious: Costinha, Maniche and DECO! Perhaps we would have not lost against Greece the 1st game, perhaps Greece would have not made it out of the Group Stage, perhaps Portugal would have faced another team in the Finals, perhaps Portugal would beat them. And you want to credit Scolari for us reaching the finals of a major competition??? Thank some timely goals by the likes of Nuno Gomes, Postiga, Ricardo's Penalty save and score more than his expertise (plus a bit of luck here and there). I'll give him this much: it took just one loss (the 1st) for him to bite his lip and have the European Club Champion midfield control the games from that point on!

    Absolutely 100% correct.

And let me just add the Liechtenstein result which could have compromised our entire qualifying run. Totally inadmissable.
Yet for Scolari it was normal!

As soon as he pronounced the word "normal" he should have been fired. Right there on the spot, "Apprentice" style.

Well.... He gets to suck on the FPF's tit for another year, cashing in 150.000 euros every month!
    I'd be happy too!

Marco Goncalves' question still goes unanswered...what do you guys want MORE from Scolari? A trophy...don't we all (but only one can win)!

He led the nation to the final - made a swap for Postiga (instead of Gomes...which resulted in a goal) and the change for Gomes (...which also led to a goal). These are coaching decisions that all led to good results.

If his ego was so big, he would have stayed the course with the same 11 v. Russia that started against Greece - after all, that was what Oliveira did in wc2002 and we all know what happened there. But no, Scolari had the balls to make the change...

I do not agree with all of his selections, but he's had success.

No one is arguing his success here... please try to understand what this thread is all about. Refer to the 1st post: He's Lying and with that showing disrespect to all Portistas! He has been nowhere near the Dragao, why claim you've watched 10 to 12 games there?

No question, we should all be more comfortable with Scolari coaching the NT. You say what you want about the man - but he delivers results. Even though we may not have the toughest qualifying group [Italy and England being the only two easier groups], Portugal is atleast making quicker work of its opposition than it use to in the past.

You really can't blame Scolari for fielding Paulo Ferreira, Fernando Couto, Rui Jorge, Simao, and Rui Costa instead of the Porto connection [Ricardo Carvalho, Nuno Valente, Deco] Miguel and Cristiano Ronaldo.

You guys are making it seem like Scolari was an idiot for fielding Paulo Ferreira (voted best RB in Europe), Couto (Portugal's leader at the back for a decade), Rui Jorge (experienced veteran), Rui Costa (no need to explain), and Simao (Benfica's captain). These were hardly bad alternatives.
