    Wow quite a few injuries now. Well it gives a chance to Boa Morte and Quaresma to try to prove their worth. Honestly, I think that if Boa Morte is a starter on the NT come WC 06, then Portugal has no chance. At best he's an average player...Quaresma has way more upside.

    Boa Morte has 5 goals in the EPL this year while Cristiano has....0 I'm not saying Boa morte is better then Cristiano because I am not stupid. But Boa MOrte can definately play.

    The key word is young talent. We can't replace these guys with current A teamers, imagine what the team would be like with B players? :eek:

    Good call by Scolari...Quaresma is playing pretty well. The Under-21 team has lost some of its punch without the likes of Almeida and Quaresma.

    I would start:
    ~~~~~~~~~~Pauleta~~~~~~~~~~
    ~C. Ronaldo~~~~~~~~~~Boa Morte~
    ~~~~~~~~~~~Deco~~~~~~~~~~
    ~~~~Maniche~~~~~~~Costinha~~~
    ~J. Ribeiro~~~~~~~~~~P. Ferreira~
    ~~~~Andrade~~~~~~Carvalho~~~
    ~~~~~~~~~~Ricardo~~~~~~~~~
    Bring in Quaresma for Ronaldo at 46', Postiga in for Deco at 60',
    and Tiago in for Maniche at 60'.
    boa is a left winger. if scolari is smart he wont play CR, he is out of form and needs a rest and man utd dont have another decent winger so he wont get a rest with them.
    CR my not be in form, but with Portugal if he goes we win, its going to be a hard game, its going to be played in the fog and probably a snow storm according to today's report on Estadio Nacional
    i have a feeling quaresma is going to show his worth. maybe score a few. rest ronaldo the kid is playing terrible now cause sir stupid wont rest him. scolari must have had a dream about this but injuries are a concern and this way hes has other options he can deal with.
    Took the words right outta my mouth. He's a different type of player, more of a drive to score although he has set up plenty of goals for Fulham this season.
    We will see how he does when he finally gets a start. I gaurentee that he won't caugh up the ball as much as Simao has in the past WCQ. I also look forward to seeing Quaresma on the NT, either of them I would take over captain over-hype.
    However I'll eat my words if Boa dosen't play better against Luxemberg than how Simao played against Lichenstein or Russia for that matter. (yes he scored, but played like garbage throughout the game)
    Well, let's see how well Quaresma does with the "AA". He has been in form lately with Porto and this shot at the senior squad is merited based on his recent form. I doubt that he will start the match as Boa Morte and CR were called to the NT originally while RQ was a call up to replace an injured player, so starting him in place of someone who was actually called would be a slap in the face. However, if Portugal has a comfortable lead going into the 2nd half, look for him to play practically the whole 45. Wow, it would be nice to see RQ and CR on the same field again. Uh oh, the memories of better times are popping into my head...here come the tears again... :eek:
    Isn't it funny that not that long ago, it was Sir Alex begging for Scolari to rest CR, but now he's not doing it either. :rolleyes:
    I think he has no choice but to play him. They have nothing on the wings without him as Ryan Giggs is in rapid decline.
    The way the team is playing recently, it doesn't make much of a difference. They'll still lose or draw almost every game. He has to leave the kid on the bench for at least 2 full games so he can play well for our NT. :D
