This is what I want from a 10, man. He’s elite but more broadly the technical ability and close control is why I get frustrated at what we have there now.

Sancho LW, Cherki 10, Antony/Amad RW - you could definitely have someone like Osimhen/Rashford at 9 with those 3 behind them.

3 if you count the thing goal from last game. That was the real difference maker.

Cherki is a full time no. 10 now? Nice....

I just checked his fbref stats. He compelres 75% of his passes. Isnt that worse than Bruno?

My complaint with Bruno was never solely his pass %, it’s how often he plays a genuinely shit or stupid pass just because he has to scratch an itch. The lack of IQ in terms of what a game needs. Too often even now, when we need to protect a lead, he’ll thump it forwards. When we need to pick our moment to beat a block, he’ll thump it forwards. When we need to regain control or kill the momentum of a match, he’ll thump it forwards. This is one of the reasons why people comparing KdB and Bruno because of their pass completion are so wide of the mark - look at the passes being missed or indeed completed and the thought processes behind them are so different.

I haven’t exactly scouted Cherki and was mainly talking about how he presents in that reel, but there are lots of other factors to consider wrt his FBRef stats (which are amazing by the way) - Cherki’s 19 not 28, he’s played on the wing a lot as well as 10, he’s not playing for Ten Hag so has different instructions - but the main thing is the actual technical quality you can see in these clips. And he’s not just really good at passing, he’s ridiculously good at dribbling too.

He’s going to get one move and then he’s going to be one of the top 3-5 players in the world for about 10 years. And he’s going to do it while being exactly the sort of versatile, inventive talent who would give be on exactly the same wavelength as our young technical players.

Bruno was to blame for that first minute goal then made an even mistake about two minutes later on the right touch line-where he kept the ball in but passed to there winger .. luckily they didn’t score

If City win their next 2, they go top of the league on GD. Fine, fine margins.

Feel like we didn't have a terrible start, we could be there but this squad is not good enough.

One point from two games is not the kind of form Arsenal will have wanted to carry into their postponed first EPL game of the season against Man City on Wednesday, with another to come in April.

Time to see how they handle the pressure.

Magpies drop 2 points. Big opportunity now to solidify 3rd and even put pressure on for 2nd place.

Didn't see it but my WhatsApp group was livid. Fans of other teams were shocked VAR said play on.

Soton may have to give Poch a call and see if he is up to it. Jones needs to be fired pronto if they are to have any hope.

"However, according to The International Football Association Board (IFAB), there will be no penalty if a player is falling and the ball touches their hand/arm when it's between their body and the ground, but not extended to make the body bigger. IFAB rules also state that a penalty won't be given if the ball makes contact with a player's hand/arm immediately from their own head/body/foot or the head/body/foot of another player."

Yet it IS a pk when it deflects off Martinez leg onto his arm when its tucked againat his body.

    Wtf
