Goff also confirms the news that the new phonebooks, er, full schedule will arrive on 2/7. http://blog.washingtonpost.com/soccerinsider/2008/02/houston_too_close_to_new_orlea.html -------- *MLS officials say that complete team schedules will definitely be released Thursday. -------- The "opening" schedule for MLS 2008 is already up at: http://web.mlsnet.com/mls/schedule/ Dates and times are subject to change. All times Eastern (ET).
I am definatley interested in seeing the schedule so i can plan on roughly when and what games i attend but really what's the big deal? Every team plays all other teams.
and some people really like to analyze the schedule. since MLS plays an "unbalanced" schedule, there will be much analysis/discussion/complaining about which teams have the "better/easier" schedule and which teams have "too many" national tv games or afternoon games or games that won't be well-attended or whatever. here's last year's thread from 2/6/07 when the 2007 MLS Schedule was announced: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=476371 And here's a thread from December, when people were trying to piece together what could be known about the early season 2008 schedule: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=629797
I have to see what days most of our home games end up at. I have season tickets so I'm trying to find out what days I "have class" so I can tell my employer I can't work those days.
Well, in addition to the nuances of the MLS schedule (who are the "rivals" for each team that will be played more often), we'll probably get a good idea about SuperLiga as those games might be listed in the schedule -- they were last year. We also might learn how the league is handling USOC berths -- if they do prelim games again to enter the real competition, those might very well be listed.
Don't call that poster "Hero", call him "Shithead". To get back on track: I wonder if they'll front-load this schedule a little more with all the tournaments happening later in the year...
Damn you MLS for putting out a schedule THIS THURSDAY!!!!!! I blame you most of all, Don Garber! Look at what you have started.
Holy crap, all the lines from The Jerk were deleted? That was some quality posting now moved to the recycle bin.
-ZOOOM!!!- That was the sound of monster's point flying WAY over your head. The problem is the presumption that it was 'out of context.' It's a hyper-PC knee-jerk. And believe me, I'm about as PC as a person can get. Half the stuff people say on these boards, I don't get. I'm too old. I don't just jump on them for being racist, or reporting them to mods. I look it up, and if they're being dicks, I'll be happy to post on it. But 99% of the time, my bleeding-heart reaction is proven wrong. So it's dropped, before I make a fool out of myself.
no, i actually got monster's point. i decided to make another one, while completely understanding what he was saying: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?p=13812214#post13812214 imo, "The problem is the presumption that all parties arrive at a joke/quote with the same context. it is the joker's responsibility (just as much as the listener's) to realize that context is needed." "jokes" aren't all that funny if one may have to look them up on wikipedia or google to get the context. but i commend you for taking that step to educate yourself when needed. others obviously wouldn't be so measured in their responses. now, how 'bout that MLS 2008 Schedule.
Can anybody explain to me why San Jose and New York are the only teams who won't play on opening weekend (March 29-30)??? Why can't they just play each other? The following week (April 3-5-6) the only 2 teams who won't play are Kansas and Colorado. Again, why can't they just play each other? Thanks in advance
It got teleported to a remote sector of the BS universe, while I was drafting a post, offtopic to be sure.
Nor are they racist if one chooses not to. Damnit- I have no idea which thread to post in to subscribe anymore.
