I'm off today and watching. Weston looks like the #10 to Haji. This is insane.
7 mins in and Leverkusen has a bulk of the ball but it’s clear Schlage are trying to play through balls into Hadji. A couple of nice runs and couple of passes just off.
Oh crap- we simultaneously posted. Want to bin my pbp thread to avoid confusion?
I started one at the same time too.
I got you, brother. @ArsenalMetro created one at the same time too.
Great minds or idle hands take your pick...

Wes whiffed on a juicy header and had it clatter harmlessly off his shoulder. Needs to do a lot better on a cross that good
Around the 10th minute Schalke whipped in a cross from the right wing into the 6 that Weston simply couldn’t get a good head on. Great opportunity.
17 min. Weston with another great opportunity when he cuts inside but his touch lets his down and he got caught into between two minds. Definitely should have taken a shot.
Announcer seems to have no idea how solid in the air Weston is
20 min. Weston again with a great opportunity. This time the ball whipped in from the left side into the 6 and this time he does get his head on it but the keeper makes a decently comfortable save.
Ha! Yeah.....but he hasn’t shown it either. He could have done better with all those headers.
Also on in Spanish Univision Deportes and Univision App if you can't get the English feed.
Have two Americans ever played up top together in Europe? It doesn't even happen that often in MLS, much less the Bundesliga. Maybe Fulham at one point?
They seem to have a real axe to grind against him. Claimed he was the wrong guy for the first header to fall to. Asserted he didn't do well with a ball that didn't even make it through to him. Thought he should have done better on a couple turns in traffic around the box. One he did really well with, defender did well to get a little piece of it, and he still laid off to a teammate. And then he did great on the long header to test the keeper but they wished it fell to Wright because he was bigger (probably would have done less).
Schalke look to have dodged a bulletproof until they haven’t. Wish Bailey were American
Wes looks good, Haji looks lost.
1-0 Bayer so far. 28 min in
OK, it did happen at least once before. Anyone care to guess when?
Also, Leverkusen score on a rebound. 1-0.
27 min. Leon Bailey smacks a low driven ball off the post and Leverkusen player follows it up. A hint of offside in the rebound but VAR Confirmed the goal. Against the run of play just a bit.
Wes getting kudos for his long throw prowess
Wright getting more involved. Better
35 min. Shit. Just like that 2-0 Leverkusen. Incredible touch, turn and finish from Alario who has done nothing this half. Completely invisible and pulls off a helluva goal.
Can’t believe I wasted my 7 day fox match us trial on this
