Schalke GM Rudi Assauer is fed up with his undisciplined players. "We have a big discipline problem. After this year of disappointment I don't believe in reaching the UEFA Cup. If the guys don't understand this, then we got to fire them or they got to pay that much that it hurts them". After a training foul of Victor Agali, Niels Oude-Kamphuis had to hold back Sergio Pinto, who wanted to attack Agali. Assauer: "There are players who cost millions. The club developed that great in the recent years - I won't watch them destroy this. The players suffer under arrogance and overestimation, this is poison in pro-soccer. Somebody who was county champion in Dinslaken suddenly is cup winner with Schalke - some did not get this in their heads. Then we have to fire them, over and out." After the loss against Rostock he lost the last bit of belief in his team. "The was the biggest disappointment since I am here. And this although it has never been as easy as now to become second." [for comparison: the current second Stuttgart would have been sixth last year with this number of points] The GM explicitly trusts in Marc Wilmots. "He is the only one, who can get control over this heap. He's got to suffer under the crap the Mr. Pro-Players are doing." For the next season Assauer announced a cut: "I got no stomach ache if I try it with young people and finish 9th. We will continue to follow our aims, but only with players who understand what playing for Schalke means"
