Both starting XI's: Here are the starting lineups for #USAvJPN. Kickoff around 7 pm on ESPNews & ESPN Plus (which is totally worth the $5/month investment). pic.twitter.com/bmyG57ikn9— Keeper Notes (@keepernotes) March 11, 2020
Interesting to see Lloyd not starting. If Press has a good showing .....just maybe. But with the two slow outside's she's paired with, ... i doubt she will Also, Pugh hasnt seen one minute. She must be deeeeep in the dog house. I'd like to see here get at least 1/2 a game and go in for Heath or Rapinoe
Players making a statement: Looking at ISI Photos and saw that #USWNT players have all taken the field wearing their warm-up jerseys inside out, hiding the U.S. Soccer crest... but not the four stars. Yeah, that feels intentional.📸 Brad Smith/ISI pic.twitter.com/rGEiYghZfb— Meg Linehan (@itsmeglinehan) March 11, 2020
So, Press starts at center forward? I used to say that Press was no good as a wing forward and should be played only at center forward. Well, she (finally) learned to be a good wing forward -- so we'll see how she does at her old, and best position tonight. It'll be interesting to see Mewis and Horan in the game at the same time. I don't recall that happening for a while.
This line up "should" totally dominate Japan. However the fact that there is almost no way to lose this "tournament" may make it hard to really get going. I think that the best thing that might happen to get this match going and kickstart the US might just be an early Japanese goal.
Poor Casey Short....can't buy a break with these coaches. Japan has not looked very good in this tourney....
Horan looks hurt on a dirty tackle from behind. I REALLY dislike that kind of dirty play and it is something I do not expect to see from Japan.
Horan back in; at first, I thought she'd dislocated her shoulder but she seems able to move it normally.
Found a stream.... not saying from where or who or when or even if its in english..... just know I'm watching the game live....
Too much slow passing at the back and the US turns it over but it leads to nothing because Japan is not dangerous.
