I just want to say thank you. I don't want to bitch about how stupid the trade was, or anything like that, just show your appriciation.

David, I would like to say thank you for the magical years, and all the memories you have given us. It has been a privlege watching you grow up with the team and you will be missed. We have been with you in your greatest days wining the CL Cup, and your worst days with your red card in France. In all this you have still remained one of the most gifted and most down to earth people. The fame a fortune hasn't stifled your resolve to be a wonderful rolemodel, father or footballer.

God bless you on your new adventures and always know, you will be missed.

Well said. I'm very disappointed in the sale, but I hope Beckham goes on to great things at Real Madrid. He's the number one football star in the world and the best role model the game has had in a long while.

Some say Becks lifestyle hes resulted him losing touch with the fans. Anyone who earns over £50,000 a week and has millions of fans is not going to have an ordinary life. He does court the press.

But Becks from what I have seen and read appears to make the effort. He made time for the little girl with the hole in the heart, and was at ease with her more than the Queen was!! Becks I believe is a good guy.

He has always put 100% effort in, even when things were not going well for him, which is more than can be said for some, remember Yorke and others?

Hes a great player. Technically I think Scholes is best, and often underrated. But Becks is world class player, I have read quite a lot of posts saying hes overrated. Do me a favour, hes class. Dont just judge him on goals and assists. He passing that often puts player into positions to assist is worth mentioning. He also helped create with Scholes the passing style which United are famous for.

Good luck Becks, hope you come back in four years time.

Becks has gone but I am sure someone replace him eventually. He deserves to be remembered with Edwards, Charlton, Law, Best, Robson, Cantona and Keane

    Thank you Beck

Thank you Beck. Thank you for all the wonderful memories, those glorious years at Man U. No one in the world can bend like you, "Bend it like Beckhan"! When you were benched, you watched the game with dignity, when you are called to play, you immediately opened the space and ignited that magic fire of Man U! You always keep best fit even with that hectic schedule to deal with from your busy social life. You are a good husband and father. You are a road model for millions of young generation. You will excel at Real Madrid. Millions of fan will follow you to Real Madrid.

ugh. isn't this thread dead yet?

Thank you David for bolstering United's coffers, for allowing us to buy many quality players with your transfer fee and for taking your roadshow to Real Madrid.

Thank you for sitting on the bench the last 2 important games of the season allowing us to be less predictable. (not to mention that amazing run in the middle of the season (you sat out) where our reserves showed how much the first team was underperforming)

Thank you for helping to keep a washed up spice girl in the lime-light , for spending so much time on your individual promotion tours, and for alienating yourself from the other players by requesting special treatment and travel plans, and for playing innocent amid transfer rumors.

Thankyou for giving SAF a target to hit with the boot.

Thank you for traveling to the USA instead of being with your England Teammates, so that you can have unflattering stories written about your b-list celebrity status.

there. can we please kill this thread now?

Before we kill it, I just have to say that I agree 100%. And I'd also like to add that I'm thankful the current Beckham is gone. The one who only swings in crosses and takes free kicks. I will not miss that Beckham. The Beckham I do miss I've missed for years. The one who played both ways, took on defenders and, *gasp*, scored from the run of play. We saw flashes of this Beckham only rarely in the last 2-4 years.
