I am sick and tired of hearing these Mexican clubs and how they want to buy franchises in MLS, and import players onto their team. MLS isn't a farm league, so Garber needs to stop treating it like one. MLS is an American league, meaning their target audience should be AMERICANS. Why are they going after Mexicans? The loyal fans are going to be Americans, not Mexicans. Why does Garber insist to go after a group that thinks MLS is a joke, and despises American soccer. Thats like Man U doing promotions for Arsenal fans. Garber needs to wake up and notice that he should be going after AMERICAN investors, and not those who own MFL clubs.

... and Chivas is the only Mexican club to actually step up to the plate -- or onto the pitch -- and offer to invest in an MLS team. Club America seems to be on the fence, but that's about it.

The sky is not falling. Would that it were. It would be nice to fend off investors for a change.

I dont mind the investors being mexican teams, as long as they do not bring the mentality that the team shall only be comprised of mexicans. I understand the tradition of their orginazation, but we have to make our stamp with ours. And as the melting pot that we are, we should look into finding investors was all different leagues. By trying to get investments from teams throughout the concacaf regions. Having a league with such diverse palying styles would be great.

I was talking to my brother about this, and this is what I don't like. Its looking like Club America is going to buy San Jose Earthquakes, and I'm all for that (Yea! New Investors!) but what rubbed me the wrong way was that in the newspaper article I read was that the club owner said Mexicans will be on the team. Who is he to say who is going to be on the team? He's not the coach, he can't make those decisions. I don't think Club America is going to make San Jose fans happy if they release Onstad and Dwayne D to sign on two Mexicans.

Same goes for Chivas. As I said, I'm all for the idea of new investors, even if they own MFL clubs, but I don't want them to be farm teams of their parent club. Chivas should consist of American players with 3 SI, just like the other teams.

Hes the guy spending 20 million to buy a club, I think he can have whoever the fvck he wants.
He could make himself the coach if he so pleased, its his money.

As long as they're not Mexican, judging from your thread title....
Yeah, that NEVER happens. *cough* George Steinbrenner *cough*
Yeah, that'll really piss off both of those San Jose fans...
And, there's not one single good reason why anyone should think that that won't happen. Not one. Just because you choose to believe that the sky is falling, and that misguided PR nonsense to try to get Mexican-American fans of CA to embrace the soon-to-be-former Earthquakes is something other than just misguided PR nonsense, doesn't mean it will ever actually come to pass.

Honestly, you guys sound like the Y2K fearmongers. Pull your head out, already.
