Brazilian winger Savio could be set for a free transfer move to Liverpool this summer. The Real Madrid player, currently on loan with French side Bordeaux, will be out of contract at the Bernabau in June. Houllier may see Savio as a better option for the troublesome left midfield role then the likes of Harry Kewell and Damien Duff - especially if the Reds fail in their quest to qualify for the Champions League. The players agent Joao Henrique Areias insists that Houllier has shown previous interest in Savio. While Houllier seems likely to prefer Blackburn's Damien Duff, he knows only too well that such a move would be thwarted by the club's financiers if Champions League football is not achieved for next season. Savio, who would not require a work-permit as he holds dual French-Brazilian nationality, may become a more realistic option for the Reds.

Can we refrain from using the gutter language when there are disagreements? BigSoccer is also read by the younger set. Don't write something that you would not want to say in front of young children. Savio's very talented and would likely come pretty cheap - and counts as an EU player cause he holds a French passport and speaks French. (Go figure.) He's done great work for us in the past, particularly in the 2000 Champions' League campaign. His major drawback, though, is that he's injury-prone.

First off a curse word is not vulgar its effecient. If those kids don't hear that language from the Tv or there parents then what better place to learn it then on a soccer message board. anyways my question is what happens if we due qualify for the champions league. Would still prefer kewell or duff since they are proven comodities in the league. And I think the jump from France to england at the moment is pretty huge (as shown by the trouble diao, douif(sp), and Cheyrou are all having). Getting a little sick of these great young players from the continent pooping out.
Um, Savio isn't coming from France, per se. He's only at Bordeaux on loan and has been capped for Brazil and won the European Cup with Real Madrid. He has a bit more pedigree than Diao, Diouf, or Cheyrou.
Actually Wildman, most of us are more concerned about the impact upon young children from being exposed to someone with as little intelligence, insight or knowledge as you on a football board. The formative years are so important when it comes to moulding the next generation of football fans and having our little ones exposed to someone like you is downright dangerous. Especially if, the next time you are cornered, you come out with all manner of wild-eyed lies about your past in the game. Lying to children is about as low as it gets, don't you think? Seriously - that's the only real concern here. After all, we don't let our kids play with the village idiot in real life. He might get confused and hurt someone small in the ensuing panic. I noticed the other day that Hamman and Gerard were in the middle, Diouf on the right and Murphy was on the left. Perhaps Murphy would have cause for concern.
Yes, we have used that temporary line-up recently. Mostly due to the poor form of Cheyrou and some defensive injuries/suspensions forcing Riise to left back to cover for Traore who has switched to the middle. But no, Murphy should not be concerned about his place in the first team. If we had a decent left sided player then Murphy wouldn't have to fill in there. He would move back to the right and Diouf would be the one dropped. Now, you have had a decent exchange of ideas/opinions without being abused. Simple innit.
