These should be cumulative. And repeating. So at 3k, wedgie. At 5k, wedgie and diapers and bathroom ban. Repeat etc

To expand on my most recent tweet, Sir Alex Ferguson has a pretty good track record at winning Premier League titles. Ask a Liverpool supporter how they'd feel about him being named their technical director, or some other senior position at the club.

Knowing how difficult it was to get the arena built, I am wondering how this will be paid for. We all have seen how things work in Columbus, how the naysayers will push for a referendum to get something defeated. So while this is a good day and it seems a lot of good news is to come, what can be the issue that some will have with this project? It seems like a win-win to me. To see all of the politicians up there today to me means that everyone is on board. What am I missing?

Given their state, is that actually a punishment?

Well I guess these boards will continue to be filled with disgust & negative banter as it always has. Someone go start the fire Bruce Arena thread, Jim Back will be right over. Hang will probably join you - he's always down to second guess club leadership (rightly or wrongly).

It's this kind of cr*p that keeps the stupid sectarian stuff going over there--and I don't even like Celtic myself. I mean, like a lot of Americans, I have a great grandmother who was almost certainly Catholic from Dublin on my Dad's side and a great grandfather from Belfast who was Presbyterian and what we used to call Scotch-Irish on my mom's side. I'm proud of my heritage from both. So we don't need that nonsense here.

This is my concern as well. We have a lot of NIMBYs here....

    It was Simon Fraser.

It was UA against Logan in the regional final in 2000. That’s the third round of the playoffs. I was a junior at Logan.

The UA tailback was named Mr Football and went to Northwestern. The other defensive end also play OLine at OSU.

They played the regional final at Mapfre in 2001 as well - Coffman vs St Xavier. And they used to do a week kickoff event too. I remember watching Pickerington and Reynoldsburg in 01 or 02.

I want COLUMBUS CREW HARDWARE, JAMES!!!

I don't believe that Bruce is bringing any of his DC United trophies with him. I don't want to polish them. Do you? Knock yourself out.

I want COLUMBUS CREW hardware. I don't want DC, LA, or Portland hardware. I think Bruce Arena is at the end of his career and unlikely to bring hardware to Columbus Crew.

But hey, if you want to abandon almost everything this club stood for in it's early years that's your call.

As for me, I'm just too much of a romantic. I just love the club too much to want Bruce Arena anywhere near it.

Are you sure you not a Tim. They try to cover their clubs misdeeds by accusing anyone who criticizes them of sectarianism. I would thing anyone of any faith should agree that child molesting is wrong.

If you want Bruce Arena at this club you either don't respect, don't know, or don't care about the history of Columbus Crew.

If you used the rally call RESPECT YOUR ROOTS and are advocating for Bruce Arena to join Columbus Crew you are a hypocrite and a scoundrel.

Dude, we get it, you don't like Celtic. Surely there is a place where you discuss the merits of various Glaswegian sports teams that isn't here.

If you had to choose one or the other, who you going with? Porter the coach or Arena the GM?

I’m skeptical of how successful Bruce can be in a city in Columbus. He had Landon there for the majority of his tenure and it’s easy to lure bigger names from Europe to sunny Southern California and throw a bunch of money at them. Sure he did well at DC in those early years but the league was a far different place at that time.

So who can we bring in that has already won hardware with the Crew? Obviously we all want GBS but other than him, who did you have in mind?

Don't bring any of those Euro-floppers from Italy, either.

    Who you got Hang?

(BTW, in no way, shape of form did I say I want Arena and his English Teeth anywhere near me. DC is still my most hated)

I don't want Bruce Arena. Period. He's past it. He's an American soccer pariah, and Columbus Crew should play no part in his rehabilitation.

Anyone who lived through the late 90's and was a Crew fan should know you don't need to have another name to not want Bruce Arena anywhere near this team.

Damn... Arena. This day has been a helluva roller coaster. I mentioned the "Arena as GM" rumor to a longtime Crew fan/work colleague whose response was" Are they out of their effing mind?"

Arena was a great coach, back in the day. Leaving the negative history aside, I just cannot imagine him fitting into the culture here. Sigi as GM would make more sense. But I was kinda hoping that the club would be looking to the future, ya know?
