BTW does anyone here know someone who might be going to the game between Saudi Arabia and Australia in Melbourne, or is anyone here traveling to the game himself? I am currently in the United States west coast (SF bay area) and I plan on traveling to Melbourne next week to visit a student relative and we are thinking of going to the game, if we have the free time. Does anyone here know if there is a Saudi students organization in Australia that would provide information on gatherings for the game, which we could possibly tag along? Of course we'll get our own tickets but at least we'll have people to be with and get to socialize, etc.
I'm in New Zealand unfortunately so I can't go to the Match But what I do know is there are is a Saudi students club in Melbourne but I don't know how to contact them since the Cultural Attache is in Canberra. You can try emailing the cultural attache for info on the club in Melbourne: http://www.sacm.org.au/English-website/contact-us.htm Or you can just show up at the game and join the Saudi fans after the match (though if we lose I doubt they'd be in the mood to socialize. )
New Zealand 0-6 Saudi Arabia New Zealand fielded a Olympic NT with 4 overage players . 2 red cards for NZ. http://www.nzfootball.co.nz/index.php?id=3
NZ didn't provide much of a challenge in either game. It was too easy. Can't say we got much use out of these friendlies.
Thank you. Wallah it's a shame you couldn't travel to Melbourne while you're so close to it! I'm going to have to make a stopover in LAX and then fly out to Melbourne. I wish there was a one-way flight from SFO. Thanks for the info. I'll most likely ask someone once I get there because my relative isn't even sure of wanting to go anymore. He just wants me to visit him and been nagging on my head for ages lol. What are you doing in NZ BTW?
Overseas Scholarship. College starts up again on 28th February and the match is one day after. Talk about poor timing! Match Fitness before games aren't bad. Sure more useful than doing nothing.

Ok...Finally am back to business.. Good to hear Saudi won both the friendlies by massive margins. If any one has watched the game can you tell me how the team played in both the games or atleast in the first game. Cosidering what Hijazzey post saying NZ team did not give much of a challenge, I beleive the Saudi NT played a fooled of themselves to arrange the friendlies against the NZ team because there is a high possiblity that the NZ team purposely played weak so that the Australians could easily make the game plan before the encounter and formulate tactics which would kill the Rijkaards one.. All and all NZ team was indirectly spying on us..
Some important decisions were made in the recent FA meeting- 1-Loudspeakers to allowed in the stadium. 2-Only 3 foriegners will be allowed to sign by the the clubs in next season. 3-The league will be named as League of Profeesional Clubs while the first division will be named as the Professional League. 4-The Kingdom would offer to host the Asian Football Confederation Under-22 Championship in 2013 and the Asian Nations Cup in 2019. 5-Introducing electronic gates for entry, and setting up restaurants in stadiums.
I didn't see "Yasser Al Qahtani" playing in any games. Is he injured ? I haven't seen him play in Rikkaard's first 11 so far ...
Damn Al Ain ... Now there's no way he will be starting this cruicial match ... I would always prefer him over Naif Hazzazi.
Yes, indeed he has gained hi form ... The dangerous player from Australian Side (IMO) will be Harry Kewell... he is pretty much in top form ... I don't know about the rest of Aussie players as I haven't seen them play recently except for Harry Kewell ...
This would be better in the Saudi Not Soccer Related thread: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=1072
