I wish the will be hungier than North Korea because then we can actually score when they don't play 9-0-1.
was in the stadium by 8 :00..full pack house and every1 talking and predicting a win by 1 or 2 goals.. after the first half most of the fans chatted 1 common thing. 1-remove yassir and noor .... 2-from my choice if our coach knew that korea will park the bus then why did he not use 3 strikers instead of 2.. 3- we were drifting the balll from left to right like we do to our cars..most in target was abdullah sohail..what type of play was this.. and after the second halfs around 70 minutes we were more slow in attcking.. SPECIAL THANKS TO SOUTH KOREA FOR HOLDING IRAN
Because we don't want to give away a needless goal and drop to 4th place. I think if Iran lost their match we would have played with 3 strikers.
I really doubt that Bahrain can defeat us over two legs (except maybe on penalties, but these Gulf teams eventually fizzle out in the second half). I'd actually be more worried about New Zealand than Bahrain. Anyway, I honestly don't care if we qualify right now. Most important thing is that we salvaged some pride after the two losses at the beginning of the campaign.
in retrospect, would you guys take third place knowing that south korea and iran were in your group?? it was interesting to see some saudi fans in good moods yesterday. i guess it could have been worse if you lost to north korea but i didn't think there would be that much cheering.
Hmmm... no. :/ Anyone see the kiddies over at Kooora.com? win the NT wins they'll start singing the praises but when we lose or draw "OH WOE IS US! THE COACH SUCKS! THE PLAYERS SUCK! WE'LL NEVER WIN EVERVEVEVER" they're more fickle than Paris Hilton with boyfriends.
I think most fans (and the FA itself) were hoping for 3d place after the loss to North Korea in February. It's only after beating Iran away that people started gunning for 2nd again.
I've recieved PMS from 2-3 Saudis before the last match who said they would not mind having the third place because of three reasons. 1. North Korea gets qualified. 2. Iran is OUT. 3. The Playoffs are like Saudis warm up games to the World cup.
This is just the "Big Soccer Effect." For most fans, this was not a factor. That's true, but if Pesseiro really does leave then we'll be starting from scratch. I always had mixed feelings about qualifying. Part of me still doesn't want to qualify because I don't like the way the team is playing (even though I thought they weren't that bad last night). But then the Big Soccer effect kicks in and I just don't want us to lose to teams like Iran, Korea, etc. . I guess if we go out now it's good, cuz at least we go out with some bragging points (e.g. beating Iran away).
premature in the saudi forum no?? i do think they have the better chance outta bahrain and NZ... NZ does not have the experience nor game prep that saudi has.
wow, i wonder what the bigger rivalry is: SA vs Iran OR S.Korea vs Japan another one that is developing is Australia vs Japan but imo Australia is too strong for the Japanese. Japan vs Korea is more evenly matched in terms of physical ability.
no offense but north korea doesn't deserve to qualify. they refuse to play football.... they defend with 10 men and that's all. i can imagine they will be raped at the world cup.
Now that I see the fixture list....North Korea have only ever won outside their nation just once at UAE.
you shoould certainly not be worried about newzealand. There performance in confedarations cup is far too easy them.IF team like iraq beat them in there upcoming match then we can expect something from NT..
why the f would he resign? Seems like everything was going according to plan...under him we got 2 wins 2 draws against good opposition, the same results against bahrain and new zealand and we are through
my personal reasons y we didn't make it half of the game of football is played when people are running off the ball and the other half when they are running with the ball. All we were doing is punting the ball up the field hoping that some one heads it in. I mean there was no build up whatsoever, players were not running to get into positions to receive the ball. We couldn't stitch three passes 2gether in the final third. This is becoz either there was a lack of proper coaching or they were too lazy or just attention freaks coz everyone was playing for themselves. Man we need to get back to some fundamentals of soccer.
