Hardly the worst analogy ever, there have been some bad ones here. I know that hops are not the only component to beer, and my knowledge does go beyond a Sam Adams commercial, particularly because I feel that Sam Adams is awful beer and I would tend to avoid making beer the way they do anyway. That being said, I'm not about to list all of the essential ingredients to beer and the fermentation process and things of the sort.
