^ Di Maria probably more realistic target for Arsenal.

If I were Tottenham, I would try to include Di Maria in the Bale transfer somehow. It would serve the dual purpose of helping Spurs and blocking Arsenal.

    --- ---

In other news, Russian teams "drop" to a combined 11-1-0 in Europe this season after Spartak draw 1-1 in St. Gallen. Nevertheless still a decent away result and we could see all 6 RPL teams alive in Europe for the group-stages.

yes. but expecting wenger to be realistic is not very realistic.

giroud would thrive on the kind of crosses di maria provides, but wenger prefers to keep the ball on the ground and seems more interested in finding a striker to replace giroud in the starting XI.

di maria would also make a lot of sense for tottenham, but they may already have bale's departure covered if they finalize deals for willian and/or lamela.

Yeah, it may just be a rumor but it sure is was all over the British press today; it reminded me of ManU targetting Cesc after we'd lost Thiago. Real and Benzema are in the same situation, Benzema's top competition for minutes has gone away, why on earth would he leave (Bale is no CF) and why would Real let him go?

Los Colchoneros had great preparation for their visit to Camp Nou.

    Atletico Madrid 5-0 Rayo Vallecano

    2-0 Diego Costa 20'
    3-0 Arda Turán 34'
    4-0 Tiago 53'

    Villa hit a crossbar.

    Juanfran, Miranda, Godín, Filipe
    ............ Gabi, Raúl García ............
. Tiago, Arda Turan, Diego Costa .

Big away win for Luis Enrique and his Celta.

    1-2 in Sevilla against Betis.

Rafinha came on in the 63rd min and assisted to the 0-1 goal and Nolito made it 0-2 7 minutes later.

Cardiff on the title of this thread was pretty prophetic as they beat Man City 3 x 2 over the weekend !

Sounds like the Bale deal is 98.54% done.

So I'm guessing this 100 mil. transfer is to change Real Madrid's record of only 3 trophies in 5 years?

    No pressure Gareth.

Not really , Bale went back to london after spending his vacation in Malaga , The president want to sell him to PSG and the coach want him to train on Tuesday , i guess they want an even bigger deal than 100M ?

Actually there is not much pressure if you think about it. If they win the CDR this year, it's already an improvement :ROFLMAO:

On another personal note, I remember Bale coming into the EPL as a young full-back. Picked him up in his second year for cheap in my Yahoo Fantasy EPL team and was the only one in my group to spot him that early. After they figured it out it was too late :D . He used to get great points even as a defender.

Anyone know why this deal is taaaaaking such a looooong time to finalize!? Is it greedy Tottenham or LPB or Bale or is it maybe CR!? I kinda want this to blow up in both clubs faces.

Bale? Obv to LPB in a day or two. Lol at taking a "holiday in Malaga" when the season has long started.

Casillas again on the bench. YES!

That's why CR hasn't renewed. Wants to make sure no one else on the team will make more than him. Haha !

Some irony with the goings on this midweek.
Begins today with LPB playing, then ends on Friday with Pep v Mou.
And what's so ironic about that?
Perhaps a lurking Madridista can confirm but I believe the last time LPB played on a Monday was November 29, 2010. If you forgot what happened on that date, here are a couple of small hints...

And in case you REALLY forgot, it was played on a Monday due to the Catalan parliamentary elections a day earlier. (Lots of security concerns) ;)

Granada denied what looked to be a decent shout for a penalty.
    The season has officially begun.

If it's the play I'm thinking of, tbh it looked like he chested it after seeing the replays.
