Yikes! Russia looked completely useless against No. Ireland! Don't even remember them getting a shot on goal. Suddenly that group is wide-open again after Russia seemed to have a foot-and-a-half already in Brazil.
That is Morten Nordstrand who plays for Denmark's second best team Nordsjaelland and this goal actually happens in the match against the champions FC Copenhagen.
Champions League playoffs are a bit of a mess right now. Kharkiv has been banned for being involved in match-fixing, so now PAOK will face Schalke next wee instead. Kharkiv had beaten PAOK 3-1 on aggregate in the 3rd-round of qualifying. Fenerbahce also faces a possible ban but their appeal is still pending. They are playing Arsenal in the playoff round so looks like Arsenal will get 2 chances to reach the group stage (ie even if they lose on the field, they'll probably still go through if Fener's appeal fails).
If that goal was against an English side it would be hailed as the bestest goal of all universe time. Instead it probably won't even make FIFA's ten nominations for goal of the year. EDIT: To clarify, I think that's an awesome goal. Probably the front runner for goal of the year... after Messi v Athletic Bilbao.
lol I suck. Woke up, turned on Fox Soccer channel and thought to myself, "I thought the Premier League kicked off today." Forgot about the changing of tv rights and missed all the live action. And since La Liga kicks off in 45 minutes looks like I won't be watching Man United either.
I'm watching some of this Barklee's Preemeer League on NBC... before the BPL they were showing Track & Field from Moscow, featuring Usain Bolt, whom the commentators mentioned is a huuge Man U fan.
I'm watching Real Sociedad v Getafe in La Liga. La Liga is the league that features former Arsenal player Cesc Fabregas and former Liverpool player Xabi Alonso, along with the likes of Esteban Granero, Oriol Romeu, Marko Marin and Xuxa Suso, all of whom have arrived on loan from Premier League clubs.
I'm streaming that one too. That Gonzalo Castro shot that went off the crossbar was nuts. In unrelated news, Mrs. Mutante is off visiting her folks.
For LPB (home to Betis), Diego Lopez to start in goal. Casillas on the bench. Diego López, Carvajal, Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo, Khedira, Modric, Özil, Ronaldo, Isco, Benzema
Just FYI, Abidal has just played his 3rd match this week for Monaco, as in all 90 minutes of each game.
liked how ramos was left behind before the assist to the betis goal , too bad they made it 1-1 by benzima
