Thanks for all these "minor details", but if you could please reduce your posts I would appreciate it.. This thread is becoming to large and filled with posts that just say things like "minute 57 - yellow card"

    Thanks,

Damn.. Herrera (Estudiantes' goalie) is having a great game.. He is starting to become the Argentinean side's key player, just like in the game against Goias (Brasil) for the Round of Sixteen. Still, if they go on to Penalties, I don't see him saving too many.. For Sao Paulo, though, I can see Rogerio Ceni being important.

Poor Estudiantes, they got robbed.. In the first match of the leg, they had a legit goal not counted for an invented "offsides".. If they would have counted that goal, they would have won 2-1 in the global score and wouldn't have had to go to penalties in the first place.. Then in the penalties.. Well, just look at my previous post.

Llora cholo.

Adios Simeone.

Herrera also stepped forward by a meter or so... granted, it wasn't as obvious as Rogerio's, but he also did something he wasn't supposed to. Both keepers were wrong... the ref should've repeated both penalties.

Anyways, Estudiantes lost when their player missed the penalty... the game was pretty even, both teams deserved to go on.

I liked Ceni's comments after the game. To the effect "I'm not going to say I didn't move up a little, but we both did it a little. It's what goal keepers do. If I did it too much, the ref should have said something."

He has a point. There were three refs watching him.

Great game. Estudiantes played well in Morumbi. I was impressed with SP's control in close spaces. But they were really let down by their finishing.

Its South America... either just keep on playing or stop the game, retake the foul and deal with a big riot involving thousands of angry brazilians running on to the field. Trust me, if this were played in argentina and the argie keeper did the same, the ref would've done the same... for the sake of preventing riots and fatalities.
