I have been a true soccer fan for over thirty years, living in the Baltimore area. and for the past couple years I have become A DCU fan, along with many other soccer fans in balto. the main reason is SANTINO. DC UNITED made a great choice in drafting Santino several years ago, not only for his great talent but to get Baltimore Soccer fans interested in the MLS and DC United. Along with all the true DC United fans, I know this year will be a great year for Santino. He will lead this team ofensively. I had the opportunity to talk to Santino personally, and he is very much looking forward to having a record breaking year and helping DC United get back to the playoffs. Santino loves playing for DC, BUT MOST OF ALL HE LOVES ALL THE FANS AND THE PASSION THEY HAVE FOR THIS GAME!!! I did ask Santino how many goals he anticipates to score this year and his response was "I hope I have many goals and assists this year, but the main focus is our team getting back to its winning ways". Just wanted to let the fans know Santino is ready to rock!!!!!

All of us Baltimorons need to remember to pimp Tino to Nasty Nestor as the season and U-20 worlds approach. I'm now working out in Greenspring Valley, so my reception on WNST (1570) isn't the greatest, but Nestor has replied to every e-mail I have ever sent him (nasty@radicus.net)

I think we need to push for him to have Tino on a bunch this year. He has the Blast on every week, why not a Tino update?

    It's a good idea.

Unfortunately, I can't listen to his show due to all of the steel in my building knocking out any AM reception. Our workstations don't have soundcards either, so that rules out the webcast option as well. I will try to push for more Tino news, but I won't have any way of knowing if he has been on.

I forgot you had told me about that. I'm in a more compact office so really can't listen at work. And because of the time I get out and the weakness of their signal after dark, I'm cooked. Plus, it's so much Ravens now (no problem with that) it's not worth pushing for a few months.

But when the season rolls around, I'll be back on board. He's always looking for something to stop him from bitching about the O's.

Maybe you Bmore folks could get Tino and Nasty out to a viewing party at the pub in Eric's building (there are some US matches coming up, will Tino be in town?) Otherwise get going on organizing US fans to come out there (I believe the Canada game will be on PPV so the bar has to coordinate purchase).

Catherine at DCU schedules the player appearances so give her a shout.

I have (I think) put Doug Hicks and the manager of James Joyce Pub together, so I'm hoping they can work something out.

I may give Catherine a call during the season to see what she thinks.

Nasty should have a Santino show during the season... a great way to draw more fans from Baltimore..

Have you been to the James Joyce Pub? Do they show soccer? I am wondering if they will show Euro 2004 with Ireland...since the owner is an irish national and the staff is irish from what I hear...
Maybe a Santino/DC Utd/soccer radio show from James Joyce Irish pub on WNST....

James Joyce Pub has Fox Sports World and shows matches whenever they are broadcast. They intend to show some special events that may be pay-per-view in the future as well. The best way to increase what they show is to come in on a Saturday and watch some soccer.

I've spoken to the general manager and manager and they are both eager to do some promotional stuff with DC United.
