I'm feeling really confident this year we just signed Clemente who is a very good player. We have a coach who managed PSV Eindhovens youth team I just want to see my club in the Liga we play in a city big enough to be serious contenders for the EL spots and Carlos Braga looks like a man on a mission turned down several clubs in holland and Portugal
Too expensive to travel azores and expecting govt help is not the way to go. They need to finish top two, get promotion and then learn how to sell players. They will be at best a div. 2 team with the occasional appearance in top division. When the big three visit. they get good crowds but not enough to warrant govt support. Even the local volleyball teams in azores have the same problems.
15 years ago, on this day , first ever top league game played in the Azores. http://www.zerozero.pt/noticia.php?id=142120
Sad, they were so promising one time but to be fair, they get very little support from the fans at their games. Im surprised they are not completely bankrupt by now.
Santa Clara 12 points behind 2nd place Chaves Porto B lead the Liga and are ineligible for promotion Santa Claras and picking up important points lately
Big game for Santa Clara against Leaders Porto B Win and we are only 9 points from 2nd Chaves. Paulo Clemente is the top goalscorer of the Segunda Liga with 12 goals He has scored in his last 5 games
People in Ponta Delgada need to start supporting the team. Even when the team was decent, barley anyone would go to the games. Sad
Attendence is on how we play. The team rebranded and ditched the old crest for a new one. But I was in Ponta Delgada early in the year I was there for the 2-0 loss to Gil Vicente and there were over 6600 people there they tend to sit on the side front entrance where tge cameras are
I was there a few times myself. There were times (in past years) when the team was challenging for top 3 spots and there were barely 2000 people in the stands. If they are up to 6600 fans now, that is great because they are not exactly a great team.
We signed quite a bit of players all of them had a great season's last year at their respective clubs last season I tend not to be too optimistic what I'm talking about my club but this year I feel little bit more optimistic than usual hopefully something positive comes to fruition
Santa Clara now playing against Academica in the Taça de Liga Clemente scores in the 28th minute Santa Clara 1-0 up over half hour played
