Sanneh in the buildup for the goal.
The goal was Sanneh's only scene they showed in detail (and also Nürnberg's only offence action IIRC). With a bit luck and huge will he won a duel at the middle line against two Schalke players, had lots of space on the wing afterwards, crossed and the forwards in the middle cared for the rest. Giant luck for Nürnberg that the ref anulled a regular Schalke goal after 25 seconds as the assistant wanted to have seen an offside position
Hey guys, back in Germany for the weekend to catch the ND-FSU game on American TV. I got to see this game and FCN looked very convincing for some portions of the match with Sanneh looking confident at right mid. He made a quick run outside, received the ball well and juked his man out of his shorts before firing a cross in to (Jarolim?) at the top of the box. It was then touched off nicely twice before Ciric blasted the ball low into the right corner for a 1-0 lead. Sanneh did well patrolling the right side but most of FCN's attacked petered out in the penalty area so they created had only 1-2 more actual chances. There was a close call in the first half after Mpenza appeared to be taken down in the area but the replay showed a correct call. Olaf described the other annulled Schalke goal pretty well. Once again, FCN showed real promise for 70-80 minutes but blew it again in the 88th. Schalke did not give up and the counter was a classy piece of teamwork and Vermant added a great finish. If FCN can get Krynovek back soon, he can add some real strength to the lineup but the back line still needs to gel and mature.
