I caught a few pieces of this game on the Konference Channel (skips between all Bundesliga games). 2-1 was a fair result and FCN was lucky it was not 4-1. Hertha just could not finish.

I saw Sanneh in on a few offensive plays and he almost scored in the second half before a defender blocked his shot a few meters from goal. Is he playing in an offensive role now?

Just came from the stadium. Tony lined up as a right sided defender. He was effective pushing forward, but not getting back. On several occasions he was walking back while the play flew right over him. In the second half he stayed back a lot more, so I'm guessing Klaus gave hime a talking to. While neither goal was his fault, you could say on both that he was out of position. He got chewed out from the sideline after the first. To be honest, I couldn't tell why, maybe he blew a marking assignment. On the second goal he was standing at midfield, not even trying to get back, clearly not where he belonged. It wasn't a bad performance, but it wasn't great either. Hate to say it, but basically he looked lazy getting back on defense.

Thanks for the game report. How is the Olympic stadium renovation coming along?

I can just refer to the SAT 1 game report, Sanneh hardly was in their focus, neither did he have scenes in the offence nor in the defence. Just once he had luck when he didn't really attack his opponent in the box (announcer: "Sanneh is permitting a friendly gap") and Hertha scored - assistant raised his flag because of offside, which was evidently a wrong decision. As The Hunter said, with a better finisher than Preetz, who missed about four or five giant chances, Hertha would have won much higher.

Yea, Hertha missed a lot of chances, although Nürnberg didn't play all that badly. The Olympic Stadium is a mess at the moment. It really kind of kills the atmosphere, although better than last season. Also, stadium organization is a joke. I have a feeling it was bad before the reconstruction started, but now getting a ticket resembles a Somali food depot. You literally have to arrive at least an hour before kick off if you don't want to miss the first 30 minutets. It's a bad sign when at kick off there are more people outside the stadium than inside.

    Sanneh rated 3.5

I was only once in the Olympiastadion. What's absolutely great is the public transport system with the train station just some hundred meters away. Last year the organisation also was quite bad though - they just had one security woman, which meant that all women had to stand in a giant queue to enter the stadium.

    kicker article on Sanneh:

    Sanneh’s bad feeling

Since matchday 5 Anthony Sanneh is playing in the right midfield. Previously the US-American [not US-boy ;)] was in the four men defence – partially on the wing, partially in the center. But he wasn’t convincing there.

Since this home game against Bayern coach Augenthaler trusts in a classic defence system with sweeper. And two offensive wingers in the midfield, Müller on the left and Sanneh on the right. “The coach told me that I can make use of my strength there”, explains Sanneh. He showed his athletic abilities time and again in Berlin, but his colleagues didn’t help him. Most of Hertha’s attacks came over Nürnberg’s right wing because of that. That’s why Augenthaler often speaks about carelessness in context with Sanneh.

As convincing the national player with 37 caps cares for accents in the offence, in the defence he’s having too many mistakes. Despite of it he’s having offers from foreign clubs. That way he remains the speculation object in Nürnberg to eventually fill the empty cash with money. Sanneh got used to it, but he also admitted “that it doesn’t exactly give you a feeling to be needed”. But he concludes “That’s the business”
