His West Brom mid is only 6.0 not 7.0

He will be ok. Most gks are 4.5s, heaps of defenders available are in the 4.5s. He will only leave a few million in the bank, but he will fit his side into the cap

OK, OK, I'm tired of these Adams boys taking my next pick.

Tom taking Ayew jumbled my carefully crafted plan for my last 6 picks. AAAARRRRRGGGGHHHH

Leaving your forward slots open till round 10 will lead to that sort of thing happening ;)

I don't know why I spend so much time every draft trying to make the perfect picks from 11-15. I know, from years of playing this game, that most of our late picks will be gone by GW 4 or 5, many during the Post-Draft, Pre-Season Squad Adjustment period.

And yet, I make a plan for these important picks every year. LOL

Didn't expect it to be this close! Likely going to use all my funds. That said, Lokomotiv Lewisham has spent .5 million more than me, impressive.

Those rounds seem extra tough this year, with so many transfers still rumored & the extended window, seems like plenty of spots (DEF especially) still up in the air.

Tom (Lokomotiv) has been seen running sessions with all the 4.0 players left to see who makes his squad!

Hal on the other hand still has two forwards to pick - Andy Carroll is looming!

Hal has picked in round 15 as we have no else who needs forwards. Pacemaster can make his last two picks

I posted Bilbo’s proxy pick as Norm can only choose a goalie

Love seeing the risk taking by hal (leaving his last 2 picks for the most premium position to fill in game) and tom and dave filling their squads with the most expensive options possible. I hope i didnt throw too much of a spanner in tom and daves plans to budget their last picks by choosing nyland :D

Curious to see who everyones favourites this early stage is? Obviously people fancy their own teams, but is there someone elses team you expect to finish near the top?

There's some rumours Steer might play instead (he was the initial backup to Heaton but got injured after only 5 mins after coming on!) so we'll see! At least only having one keeper takes the pressure off rotating them correctly which I always get wrong.

To be honest I probably got one mid priced midfielder too many and many change it up but will wait and see on transfers and pre season friendlies.

Yeah it is probably a coin flip. From curiosity, would you have picked nyland or steer if the choice was available to you? I had thought the arsenal goalkeepers but ill probably wait and see, similar the chelsea situation

I'd have picked Nyland, but hoped Steer remained unpicked and might have swapped before season started based on preseason.

Musings about the drafts of the other Sand managers, in the order of the draft: (Risking the ire of the sensitive managers and standing by for revenge posts. LOL)

Hakuna Arteta - Overall Grade B+
    GK - OK
DEF - OK with 2 having no GW1 fixture
MID - Above Ave. Great Capt choice in Aubameyang
FWD - Above Ave, nice balance

Kopite Jrs. - Overall Grade A- (Choosing 6 players who have NO GW1 fixture - longer term strategy)
GK - OK (for season, weak GW1)
    DEF - 4 Great picks (2 without GW1)
    MID - Great Capt in Salah, 2 w/o GW1)
    FWD - OK, 1 w/o GW1

Lokomotiv Lewisham - Overall Grade A
GK - Below Ave, OK + fund saver
    DEF - 3 very good Def, 1 w/o GW1
MID - Great Capt choice in Mane, + Grealish and OK rest
FWD - Very Good Fwd. another great capt choice in Kane (Stole Ayew from me)

    Kicking & Screaming - Overall Grade B
    GK - 1 OK + 1 fund saver
DEF - 1 Very Good, rest OK or tbd
MID - Good capt choice in Sterling, risk of triple up with MCI (no GW1, and rotation risks)
FWD - Good capt choice in Werner and unproven other fwds.

Stormin Gunners - Overall Grade B+
GK - Monopoly on LIV GK (2nd may be fund saver) Obvious issue which would have to be addressed if LIV has no game.
DEF - 2w/o GW1, rotation risk Alonso, Bellerin rumors of trade, Could be very good, or just ave.
MID - Steady choices, but no obvious regular capt pick.
FWD - Great Capt choice in Vardy plus two other above ave fwds.

Virgil Reality - Overall Grade A
GK - I'm biased towards SHU so like Ramsdale. other GK a fund saver
    DEF - 3 very good def, 1 w/o GW1
MID - Good Capt choice in SON, 1 w/o GW1, Greenwood and Traore might make this a very good group.
FWD - 2 outstanding fwd and capt choices.

    Parraraiders - Overall Grade B
    GK - Great GK options
DEF - 1 injured, 1 w/o GW1, how will Mourinho use Doherty?, above ave defenders all
MID - Good capt choice (but w/o GW1), rest steady but not spectacular, Lundstrum production less with reclassification and doesn't always start.
FWD - Hangs on which Martial (w/oGW1) shows up this season

I'm not taking a position on whether or not to have players w/o GW1. There are 38 GW, and those good players who have no GW1, will have a double GW opportunity later. (Maybe a good time for using a Chip!

Good review hal. Agree with all assessments, interesting how the season plays out and the scramble for transfers changes things. 1 injury can cost someone potentially

For fun share the one pick someone else "stole" from you - what was your biggest "oh crap he stole my pick" moment

Mine was Kickin and Screamin picking the West Brom mid - I had thought he could go another round and I was fairly upset with that one! Four letter words and everything :)

What? No one took a shot at revenge analysis of my squad? Okay, I'll do it myself.

    Aviators - Overall Grade A-
GK - Great GK options, highest GK bonus earner. 1 GK w/o GW1
DEF - 5 Solid, above ave Def. Doubled up on the two SHU defenders who play a lot in the midfield.
MID - Great Capt choice with DeBruyne (w/o GW1), two bets on mids (Alli and Pogba) to stay healthy and get the minutes and scoring like they did in recent previous seasons, Bet on the new CHE mid, and a speculative move for Trousard, a Brighton mid who is playing up top.
FWD - Another good capt pick in Jiminez, but two bench warmers after that, except when, like GW1, I need them on the pitch. Still even as bench warmers, they should start and be potential positive scoring subs.

It's my experience that few forwards are reliable scorers, so I chose to have stronger defense and midfield. Time will tell.
