    Welcome Sand League Managers.

We use this thread to smack talk about each other's picks or to leave a post saying that you'll be unavailable for a while. We make liberal use of Proxy Managers to make our next pick if we'll be gone for a while.

Here's the draft order with time zones and a potential draft rhythm that could occur.

    Odd Numbered Rounds

    1 - 1 - Hakuna Arteta/Pacemaster14 - CDT (UTC-5)
    1 - 2 - Aviators/Hal - EDT (UTC-4)
    1 - 3 - Kopite Juniors/kopiteinkc - CDT (UTC-5)
    1 - 4 - Lokomotiv Lewisham/Tpadams - BST (UTC+1)
    1 - 5 - Kicking and Screaming/David Bartels - CDT(UTC-5)
    1 - 6 - Stormin Gunners/Norm Coyle - EDT (UTC-4)
    1 - 7 - Virgil Reality/Bilbao41 - EAUS (EDT+10)
    1 - 8 - Pararaiders/Mal (smash ya out) - EAUS (EDT+10)

    Draft start

    !-1 5:00 PM EDT (4PM CDT for Pacemaster14)
    1-2 5:15 PM EDT Hal
1-3 5:30 PM EDT (4:30 PM CDT for kopiteinkc)
1-4 5:45 PM EDT (10:45 PM BST for Tpadams)
1-5 6:00 PM EDT (5:00 PM CDT for David Bartels)
1-6 6:15 PM EDT (6:15 PM EDT for Norm Coyle)
    1-7 6:30 PM EDT (8:30 AM EAUS for Bilbao41)
1-8 6:45 PM EDT (8:45 AM EASU for Mal(smash ya out))

    Round 2
2-1 7:00 PM EDT (9:00 AM EAUS) for Mal(smash ya out))
    2-2 7:15 PM EDT (9:15 AM EAUS) for Bilbao41)
2-3 7:30 PM EDT (7:30 PM EDT for Norm Coyle)
2-4 7:45 PM EDT (6:45 PM CDT for David Bartels)
2-5 8:00 PM EDT (1:00 AM BST for Tpadams)
2-6 8:15 PM EDT (7:15 EDT for kopiteinkc)
    2-7 8:30 PM EDT Hal
    2-8 8:45 PM EDT (7:45 PM CDT for Pacemaster14)

If I have the time zones right, this makes Tom Adams round 2 pick about 1AM
Let's move the start to 3PM EDT and that would make the Aussies picks at 6:30and 6:45AM EAUS for round 1 and make Tpadams Round 2 pick at 11 PM BST

Similar to this possible draft rhythm, we'd have another one for early in the US and late in Australia. Once everyone responds quickly to their draft pick, we could do 4 rounds per day.

Off for my bridge tourney. I'll get Bilbao41 the FPL league code after the next tourney break.

Hal, since I leave for work around 7ish my time, Ill probably message you when I wake up in the morning around your pick for my proxy's with a few minor instructions if I dont make the pick personally at my given times, it should work out and if i have a list of 7 or 8 players in order it should work out

When I send out the Sand League Managers'contact info, you'll need to figure out how to coordinate with your fellow Aussie who picks after you on odd numbered rounds and just before you on even numbered rounds.

Likewise, you'll need to exchange how best to contact you with Norm Coyle who picks before you on odd numbered rounds and after you on even numbered rounds.

We don't really have assigned times. I provided a notional timeline if everyone was loaded and ready to pick as to how a round might go. People will go to work. I'll be in a bridge tourney. Life goes on. We just request that you take advantage of proxy managers if you know you'll be offline for a while so the draft doesn't stop for a half a day. And also, post in the banter thread when you know you'll be offline so if the draft is stopped, people aren't hanging around waiting on you to show up and make your pick.

After a couple of rounds, we'll all get used to each other's schedules so we'll have a common expectation of how many rounds per day that we will draft.

I should be online all weekend during the day except for Saturday night out for my anniversary dinner with the missus. [emoji106][emoji41]

A more realistic notional Draft timeline with a 12 EDT (11 AM CDT) start on Saturday

!-1 Noon 12:00 PM EDT (11 AM CDT for Pacemaster14)
1-2 12:45 PM EDT Hal (Bridge tourney breaks then)
1-3 1:00 PM PM EDT (noon CDT for kopiteinkc)
1-4 1:30 PM EDT (7:30 PM BST for Tpadams)
1-5 2:00 PM EDT (1:00 PM CDT for David Bartels)
1-6 2:30 PM EDT for Norm Coyle
    1-7 4:30 PM EDT (6:30 AM EAUS for Bilbao41)
1-8 4:45 PM EDT (6:45 AM EASU for Mal(smash ya out))

    Round 2
2-1 4:45 PM EDT (6:45 AM EAUS) for Mal(smash ya out))
    2-2 5:00 PM EDT (7:00 AM EAUS) for Bilbao41)
2-3 5:30 PM EDT for Norm Coyle)
2-4 6:00 PM EDT (5:00 PM CDT for David Bartels)
2-5 6:30 PM EDT (11:30 PM BST for Tpadams)
2-6 7:00 PM EDT (6:00 EDT for kopiteinkc)
    2-7 7:45 PM EDT Hal
    2-8 8:00 PM EDT (7:00 PM CDT for Pacemaster14)

Just Food for thought. Does anyone feel that this timeline is too optimistic?

Is there any harm in pacemaker making his choice now? Even if there is a 12 hour gap it isnt the end of the world right? It may get a few more picks in before the end of the weekend

I'm not quite ready. Still doing research after the bridge tourney finishes at 1115 tonight

Let FPL maybe add the players listed as done deals. Though none of the ones I've read about are on my hot list.

OK, I doubled checked the database for the announced deals. Only found 1 not in the database. They may put it in overnight. The missing "Done Deal" player is Rodrigo, Leeds forward, acquired from Valencia.

Otherwise, I'm about as ready as I'll get. Paul can make his pick when he gets up tomorrow morning. I'll check in about 8 AM EDT.

Probably makes no difference really, if youre happy for people to plan an extra few hours based on 1 bit of information they received.

Are we allowing rodrigo to be added or not?

If Rodrigo is not in the FPL player database when you pick, he won't be eligible for selection in the draft.

Make you pick whenever, and then check right after to see whether or not Rodrigo was in the database.

No problem. I probably have others in mind over him so it isnt a big deal, asking for more the group

Shocking disregard for FPL fantasy football and the Rocks leagues in general!

How can you look at yourself in the mirror?

For the sake of expedience since i will go to bed in case mal makes his two choices tonight, I will pick Aguero/Werner/Martial in that order depending on who is available by my pick

I back to the bridge tournament. I'll resurface about 745 PM EDT and see what's up.
