Could the long wait finally be over and we're going to get some shovels hitting dirt? http://www.sjearthquakes.com/news/2012/08/major-announcement-regarding-new-stadium-coming-saturday
What is this? A giant KFC box? Will large pieces of fried chicken rise up and appear after every goal?
Actually, he's upset because he thought child's size meant the size of a small child Ok I'm done making fun of Sigi Good to see more stadium news. With the way SJ's playing, they should have no trouble packing it.
To be fair, that's an older rendering from late 2009. The new stadium will no doubt be built at an angle that won't have the sun in the GK's eyes (which actually is a problem with the weird angle that Buck Shaw Stadium is configured). -G
I'm glad I could help. You had a good point, though: day games, particularly hot day games, are tough. -G
That's a good point too. From that 2008 squad remain only defenders Ramiro Corrales and Jason Hernandez (one could also count Shea Salinas, though he wasn't with the team in 2010 and 2011). I wonder how many of the 2012 San Jose Earthquakes squad will still be around for the new stadium's opening in (most likely) Home Opening Day 2014? -G
That's one of my few gripes with MLS, squad turnover seems too high to really build a conquering team over a few seasons. Maybe I'm wrong though.
The sun is at the summer solstice point ( can't go much firther north)given the parallel-Coleman Ave. alignment, unless the open end is now the south end. Just sayin...... Keepers better have caps for this place too.
Not to mention that the big European teams sometimes pick off the very best MLS players. In any case, here's a more recent rendering (though there may still be changes yet, including possible supporters terraces added to the closed end): -G
You're putting the "cart before the horse" son. Cant do Groundbreakin without some official Stadia Porn. Expect Final Renderings to be unveiled ...along with the Groundbreaking Date.
