This game shows how much we miss Niko...the ball control and work rate...way too many turnovers for us.

OK, if he’s on the bench.

I don't think that was offside. That was the old Manny Lagos to Landon Donovan flip and Skahan looked onside.

Yes, but the “officiating crew” have been helping Wankouver all night long. The calls are shit! Really, overtly biased officiating. That tilts the whole field.

I'll take the point. This is a game that would have been ugly last year.

    SHIT!!

The ref clearly changed the outcome of that game. Had he given the Whitecraps yellow cards when they earned them, it’s a completely different game. That was shit!

    I’m pissed! F-ing cheater!!

But we had Jasinski on the bench. He’d have been a better sub for Benji.

Oh well. At least we didn’t lose. F-ing ref!!:mad::mad:

    Good reality-check game.
    - Didn't lose
    - Shows what they need to work on
    - Who will step up to lead when there's no Timo or Nico? Someone has to take responsibility.

I don’t know what Bruce is thinking. Vancouver was making the quakes chase the entire game, and our guys were exhausted or playing while hurt. Judd actually asked to sub off for back pain. And Bruce made him wait. Vancouver finally ran out of gas around the 75th min, and instead of subbing in fresh legs, Bruce waited until stoppage time. As soon as those fresh legs came in, we were playing in Vancouvers half of the field.

I feel like Bruce wants the players to stay in and suffer when they aren’t playing well.

Also, did the TV show what Daniel did after he made that triple save late in the game? I think it was before Berhalter scored. They didn’t replay it in the stadium, so maybe they missed it. But Daniel actually stood there, saw the ball advance down field, and then pounded his chest like King Kong. It was brilliant.

Let me be positive, this was against a very good Vancouver side, with far more available first team players available and we got a result. It's been a very long time that we have a team be able to do that. And we are still three points clear of them in the table.

Ohhh hope I can find a gif. Those saves were amazing to watch in the stadium. The main reasons we didn’t lose tonight were Daniel and Benji. I felt like everyone else on the pitch got beat by Vancouver. And the bad refereeing. But those 2 really persevered under extreme pressure.

I think Benji and Daniel deserve to share MOTM tonight. Taking nothing away from Judd.

Heh. He’s “hurt” every time he goes to ground to make a save, especially when we’re ahead.

We had 2 starters missing and they bad 1. So I don’t think that’s a good excuse necessarily. We just got solidly outplayed and were very lucky come away with a point. Could not string 2 passes together to save our lives. Good counter pressing by them and we had a couple of guys in midfield who are not good possession guys, like Bouda and Marie.

Almost the whole game was played in our final 3rd, except for the 2 seconds it took for them to waltz thru our midfield. That said the defense absorbed all that pressure and only gave up one goal. And that’s part of the deal. They deserve credit for that. And the team deserves credit for that.

At the end of the day, we won the series with Vancouver, 4 points to 1.
