Looking at the standings, I would say that we had a chance to beat them. Looking at their games over the past couple of months, not so much. They actually beat LAG (a team that we haven't even come close to beating this year). Will be at the game. Will be interesting to see how many people attend.

I tried to make chicken adobo the other night. I've only tasted chicken adobo once, and I don't remember it having as much vinegar as this recipe called for (equal parts soy sauce and vinegar with some sugar). Guess I have to find a filipino restaurant somewhere to taste the real thing.
Perhaps there’ll be a Filipino food truck at this game that’ll have the real thing. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
There was a food truck that came to TRW Microwave on Stewart Drive back in the 80's and they had... Balut!
So, out of curiosity I went to MLS website to see if Espinoza was given the secondary assist on Marie's goal and they only had Ebobisse with the assist. I went and looked at the Portland 4-2 victory over the Galaxy and 3 secondary assists were given in that game. One of the goals was an almost identical scenario to Marie's goal, pass to the endline, cross, goal. After looking at the goals in that game I rechecked the Quakes match and they had corrected the scoreline and given Espinoza the secondary. Personally, I think they should scrap the secondary assist.

Yeah, and heck even a lot of primary assists are hardly worthy. A simple 3-yard square pass to an attacker who hits a 30-yard bomb, etc. Assist!!! I guess it tends to even out over the long haul because some assists are entirely worthy of a mark on the scoresheet, and sometimes guys make critical plays that lead to a goal and it doesn't count because there was a deflection or something. Niko should have at least one assist in his career (still 0g, 0a). Some months ago he played a great bending thru pass to Jebo I think it was. Jebo was 1v1 with the keeper and his first shot was parried but he put in the rebound. No assist for you, Niko! Anyway, I don't think 2ndary assists should be a thing. Are there even published heuristics about when they are given?
https://www.forbes.com/sites/ianqui...-league-soccer-to-scrap-the-secondary-assist/ Adding more confusion, the criteria for awarding a secondary assist has been inconsistent through the league’s 26 seasons. As MLSsoccer.com’s Andrew Wiebe wrote in 2014, the guidance on crediting players with assists — primary or secondary — became more subjective in 2003: The rule was changed to read: “Assists shall be credited to the player(s) whose pass(es) contribute significantly and directly to the scoring of a goal or the creation or development of the scoring sequence. An assist shall only be awarded when it is determined that the pass in question required a reasonable amount of skill, vision and accuracy. A maximum of two assists shall be awarded on any goal."
I'm not sure that they're really applying the "An assist shall only be awarded when it is determined that the pass in question required a reasonable amount of skill, vision and accuracy" test. Seems like just about any pass to the goal scorer is scored as an assist. Or maybe their bar for "reasonable amount of skill, vision and accuracy" is very low.
