San Jose Earthquakes - St. Louis CITY SC (Saturday, 9/20) pre/in/postgame thread [R]

This got me curious to see what Michael Baldisimo is up to. He’s playing for Calgary FC in the Canadian league and appears to be a bench guy, 11 appearances and 1 goal. Glad to see he’s still playing.

 

DeJuan Jones has a hamstring pull. He will miss this game. I don't know if he will miss more than that.

 

Presumably the same injury he was out with last week. He may not play again this year. :-(

We looked good earlier this season, but then Bruce deviated from what was working. He doesn’t have enough faith in Leroux, who is one of our very best players. And he ditched Verhoven, who is good. He ditch Hernán, which you can argue either way, but we didn’t get anyone to replace Hernán. We should have signed another defender or two. LaF#ck signed Six (6!) players in the summer transfer window. They are good And they brought in Six players to help. We got one, and we sucked before that! We can probably blame RottenFish for that, but it shows a massive lack of will to win.

We’re shit, and we don’t care that we’re shit.

If we win, we're In, with a loss we get tossed.

 

We pretty much need to win out, which is not going to happen. St. L are not a good team, but I still think they beat us. Respective that we will have neither DeJuan nor Nick. And on the other side we’ve got Costa or Ricketts. And I’m assuming a 3-4-3 because that’s been our best formation, but who knows what Bruce will do?

We’re screwed.

Out postseason probability is now at about 38%. If we lose this one, depending on other games, we could go down to below 20%. If we win, we may get up to 50% or so. It's neither "win and you're in" nor is it entirely must win. But if we don't win, it's gonna be very tough.

I think Benji's gonna get a start tonight.

 

I’m binge watching The Lost Boys trilogy before and after the game. That way, I’ll be certain to have at least some fun tonight.

I expect us to get ripped tonight. Sh#t Louie suck, and we’re at home, so we ought to win. But we’ve been crap lately, and I have lost confidence in Coach Bruce. So I expect us to get trashed. Also, no DeJuan tonight. That’s going to hurt. Also, no Lima, who’s probably second best at the right outside spot. So Benji? It should be Benji, but I doubt that Bruce will go with Benji at the outside right spot.

Also, I think we’re likely to see four in the back with Rodrigues. I’m not optimistic.
