Will San José successfully take its first step toward reclaiming the MLS Heritage Cup?

Will Seattle assure an advantage in remaining the MLS Heritage Cup incumbent?

The Earthquakes channeling José Clash, Rikter the CyberDog and Q? Sounders FC siphoning Sammy Sounder, Civ and Drew Carey?

    Discuss.

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!!

Since the 2012 Summer Olympics Closing Ceremony is scheduled for the following day, Jim Kozimor will likely have already returned as the play-by-play announcer for this game, pushing Dan Dibley back to sideline duty.

Anyone else think that Dibley did a better job than Kozimor at play-by-play announcer? Dibley definitely had a lower jabber coefficient.

Who did a better job as the sideline reporter, Dan Dibley or Kara Tsuboi?

I don't know. But Kara was definitely hotter (much, much).

Kara was embarrassing. Her interview with Wolff was painful. She asked him a lame question about his text to the Fire owner and he just left her hanging.

IIRC, that was indeed her first time as a sideline reporter.

The first time I saw her on TV was on CSN California's The Sunday Night Wrap that she co-hosted with Gary Radnich and Tony Bruno on Sunday evenings during the 2010 NFL season (it's a shame that the show didn't return for the following season and beyond, both because watching it was a nice way to wind down the weekend and because the SF 49ers finally had their first good season in quite a while in 2011).

It was interesting to finally see Dan Dibley and Kara Tsuboi on the same broadcast considering their previous Gary Radnich connections: just as Dan Dibley (when he was on KNBR) was constantly the funny/smart-alecky pin to Gary Radnich's ego balloon, Kara Tsuboi was constantly the elegant/dignified pin to Gary Radnich's ego balloon. :D

Interestingly, the San Jose Earthquakes have had three regular home sideline reporters in the post-Golden Age era:

    • 2008: Kate Longworth
    • 2009: Christine Nubla
    • 2010-present: Dan Dibley

    Victory!
Salinas for Chavez at the 65 minute mark, since he rarely goes 90 these days.
Opara as third striker late for Beita if we need a goal!

that there is a solid.......solid bench. im sure we would all like one more guy for depth in each of the position eschelon (defense, mid, forward) but all things considered we got some INSANE depth. Lots of teams would kill to have that kind of a bench

Oh, I would have loved to have seen that. But, tell me, when Radnich's ego balloon explodes what comes out? Is it hot air or something much more odiferous?

It mostly looked like hot air on TV, but I'd have to ask Kara, Dan and Tony if it was odiferous. ;)
