Will San José rumble away the self-proclaimed royal invaders from the saliferous pond?

Will Salt Lake sprinkle away the defenders of the stands of PayPal Park?

The Earthquakes standing steadfastly triumphant? Real pouring salt on the hosts' hopes for a victory?

    Discuss.

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!!

The Quakes have never lost a match Saghafi refereed, owning a 3-1-0 record.

This game could go either way, if we're without Nathan and Judson, we lose.

Well bad news for you poor fans. I will be in attendance (taking my daughter to college move in and her first game at PayPal Park). In the Almeyda era in seems like half the games I attend in person feature an early red card. Nathan against Minnesota and Espinoza against Cincinnati were so frustrating to sit through.

I have thought about leaving in those early red card games. It's not fun to watch your team play with 10 men. However in the Minnesota game we hung in really well and almost won. Then there was that Toronto game some years ago where we somehow won with 9. But generally it's not fun.

We are without both due to yellow card accumulation.

We can survive but going to be a lot harder to win without our Brasilieros. Alanis and Beas(t) CB, Marcus Lopez and Abe. Remedi and Yueill in central mid. Would like to see TT get some minutes again but would not start him cold. Needs sub minutes after not playing forever.

Yeah the tactics usually make for a very unpleasant game. I don’t really enjoy seeing an opposing player get red carded either because then it’s just playing against a team trying to kill minutes off the clock. I much rather see both teams at even strength going after a win.

That’s why the Kinnear era after Houston was so frustrating to me. I hardly had interest in attending the game because a tie was “good enough". Rooting for a home tie sucks and that's what happens most of the time when your team gets a red card. Fingers crossed that this game will not be like that.

Wear your purple sweater. Maybe with gold shorts and a rabbit's foot.

To Matias’s credit I felt like he went for the win against MNU and we almost got it. The game evened out towards the end. He knows we need dubs. I wound up enjoying the game. I remember JT doing some time wasting towards the end and thinking NO, we don’t want to settle for a tie, even down a man.

I did think the game was well played all things considered, but the Quakes gave up a really soft tying goal right after the red card by ceding possession and backing deep into their box. I don't think they play like that if they weren't a man down.

Yeah it was that little period of adjustment that got them. Still, giving up 1 goal playing down a man for 75 min or whatever was not bad, and they were somewhat threatening on offense as well towards the end.
