You need reminders when we have a game??

 

Going to be pretty windy tomorrow night. It's very windy right now in SJ and the wind is supposed to continue thru tomorrow and tomorrow evening. Won't be hot either - high 60's.

 

Quakes media team keeps saying we’re the west’s best or 1st place but actually we’re not. Tied on points but we’ve played one more game than Vancouver and it’s a loss. Even if Vancouver was not allowed to play that extra game (because they’re Canadian and their fire smoke blew on us!), they’d be ahead on GD. But I get it, this is about marketing, not absolute truth.

 

I am a little nervous about this game. It's been so long.. It's almost like the start of a new season like a reset. You just don't know which version of the team would show up.

 

It's going to be true for all of the teams. We were en fuego out of the gate in Feb/March so hopefully we can do that again.

 

I'm nervous about the whole 2nd half of the season. Last year Bruce said we'd have a good 2nd half of the season and we very much did not. He's said the same thing this year. And while we were very good in the 1st half, we also caught a lot of breaks. I don't expect the 2nd half to go as well as the 1st but hopefully it will go well enough that we have say a top 5 finish.

 

I'm gonna have fun, regardless, and drink Scottish beer. So not even a little nervous.

 

I’m trying to get to a place where I can really care about the outcome but not be nervous about it and enjoy the game regardless. Not there yet. Maybe Scottish beer would help.

 

Nick Fernandez will play the #10 spot in place of Niko.

Orlando suck, but they have made some upgrades during the break. We’ve made some upgrades too. The new GK makes me a little nervous because he won’t be quite as integrated with the team. That’s always a little dicey.

But we’ll have Timo back, and he can be a game changer, even if he only plays one half. And we’ve got some more depth now. Also, Preston finished the first half of the season with two goals against Portland. (Jack had two assists in that game too.) And Nick with a killer assist in that game too. I expect our guys to be confident!

Scotland is amazing! I’ve got recommendations for you or anyone who might be going. I was mostly in Edinburgh and Inverness. (Also Lockerbie, but don’t go there.) My ancestors are from the Inverness area, so I spent three days there. Had a great time.

What Scottish beer will LOBINA serve? I can only find Traquair up here. In Inverness I drank Black Isle, which is a local brewery. Also, whiskey. I drank a lot of whiskey! Still didn’t see Nessie though.
