Fat chance anybody would do it but...If anybody is willing to trade 2 tickets in the supporters section for 2 tickets at the section above it (201, row p) plus 20 bucks, message me please
I'll be there tailgating with all my peeps...... Finally the great Beckham coming to our waters. I hope we kick their cans!
I eat healthy non processed stuff, but if I went all out to stuff myself, it'd be peeps and cotton candy....mmmm... Check out the background! http://www.youtube.com/user/mls/videos
Since the start of the 2010 season, the Quakes have a winning record against LA, going 2-1-2 (W-L-D) over that time in all MLS matches. At home over that time, the Quakes are undefeated, going 1-0-1. The last time (and only time since the Quakes returned in 2008) LA beat San Jose at San Jose was June 2008, and since the Quakes have returned in 2008 they are 3-1-2 against LA at home. I like that record, and hope the Quakes can add to their dominance over LA in the Bay Area this next game!
Hope so too, but I think this will be a tough game. LA appears to be at nearly full strength and on a role. And LA for the most part controlled the game against the Quakes in LA, and that was w/o Donovan and Keane. Of course the Quakes were missing a few players then too.
Yeah, this game looked a LOT easier two weeks ago before LA started figuring out how to play together. The Quakes were without Wondo, Salinas and Bernardez and without Chavez for most of the game until his late game sub. The Quakes are a VERY different team with those guys available. The bad thing is that the Quakes could be tired after playing Tusesday in the Open Cup, but at least they get 3+ days of rest versus the 2+ days you get from a Wed/Sat turnaround. And it's likely not that many Quakes will play on Tuesday, so hopefully it's not a major factor.
I hope Gordon gets at least 30 minutes against the Galaxy. Ever since Arena became the coach and dumped him, Alan has been a nightmare for LA. He punished them in a Chivas kit, for TFC and of course for us. I'm sure Gordon will be motivated again to "beat LA".
glad to see that the league will be hyping up this match. and yeah the ultras always bring it. i was there last year at the stanford match...what a blast! ill have to watch this from a bar in tempe.
also, not sure how many of you saw the Sounders/Timbers game yesterday (not many, i bet, but i cant blame you. i was watching to see who Schmid played) but one of the commercials was the SJ/LA ESPN 2 commercial for the game. it is in the same vein as the cascadia and LA/VAN commercials. i've been looking for it online since then.
Wow, no, I missed that commercial. The one they did for the Cascadia rivalry had high production value, I hope the SJ LA one was anywhere similar
Big venue...Big crowd.....ESPN coverage... Hope the Quakes can really make a statement with this game. A win against LA (the "favorite son" of MLS and ESPN) in front of a big crowd and a national TV audience would be awesome. Hope Gordon scores one (or more). Not sure if he should start. I'm paranoid that if he played a full 90 he would get injured.
Ah fadetoblack, beat me to it. I'm assuming that's what 760Epicenter saw. Looks good. NorCal vs SoCal.. I love it!
I got goosebumps just now watching that. Great ad that wasn't really biased toward the Galaxy at all (as I generally expect all national stuff to be).
ESPN also did a nice job of making the crowds look as big as possible (i.e., no wide shots of Buck Shaw). Kudos
"This is an epicenter of expectation" "This is the California Clásico" (among several others) Very well done commercial! GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
