Only four days away! Great to see so much excitement about this game. Even if you don't love soccer, there will be drones!

The Quakes FO seem to be droning on and on about this game.

I notice that they've been using "Carson" in their messaging rather than "LA" or "Galaxy." How many people in the Earthquakes fan zone even know what or where Carson is?

Anybody that isn't a complete noob and is tuned in enough to pay attention to what the Quakes say on social media should understand it. They've played there for 23 years. But I do find it a bit cringey attempt to copy LAFC's online messaging. Quakes fans chant "Beat LA", not "Beat Carson".

I suppose it's a trolling attempt, like "You don't actually play in LA, you play in Carson!. You're the Carson Galaxy!! Haha!

I mean, we all know what 'Carson' means, but Stanford's stadium holds 50,000 and I'm guessing that the FO is hoping for a better turnout than they typically get at PPP. Bay Area fans of any sport will line up for "beat LA!" but...Carson? Is that the city in Nevada? Why don't we like them?

We also don't like silver, therefore, Beat Carson! It's obvious!

    Just posted on Twitter:

    GIVEAWAY STOP #1

Figures, since I bought tix yesterday.
I hope they are heading south -- maybe they'll be giving away tickets at the Patio tonight?

I understand the FO wants to see a full stadium, but better to give away tickets to local soccer leagues than to whatever randos happen to be at a barber shop in Redwood City or a taco place in East Palo Alto (will those people even bother to go to the game?)

Also, our opponent had an even later start tonight than we did (also "weather" in Colorado) and their game just ended. We're fifth in the west going into Saturday's game; they are at the very bottom in 15th place. Not that we can't be embarrassed by them yet again, but I don't remember ever going into a Clasico with this kind of standings gap -- not in our favor anyway.

It's certainly better than last year, when we kind of knew we were going to lose, even with Puig not coming in until the 2nd half (at which point it was "over over"). But anything can happen in the Clasico, so I'm not counting on anything.

Is the gap similar to what it was when we played the Clásico down in Carson a few weeks ago?

We had a forty-five minute rain delay in Colorado Springs. Great little stadium. Had a lot of fun, but they lost.

    Go Quakesfans!!
