Wow - just got out of a Forward Madison game and checked the score while waiting from my bus. I’m shocked, said no one ever. We’re still Fisher 1.0 while MLS has evolved to 3.0 with Messi, Som, and their ilk, I despair that we will ever sign anybody that moves the needle more than a 0.5 temblor at Berkeley,…

Either Son and Bouanga are super fast, or our backline is very slow. Hard to tell which it is…

at least the quakes have looked good since Judd’s goal. Vieira seems to be doing a good job. Scary when both Son and Bouanga are running together at a lone CB (either Munie or Romney)

kinda strange HT show. It’s outside the stadium and piped onto the big screen. Nobody really interacting with the show

I'm not watching or listening to the game, but did just watch the goal highlights on MLS website. Maybe it's just the broadcast but the crowd sounds like it's an LAFC home game.

The announcer did make a reference to the Quakes "non existent" backline.

The only thing bringing me joy at this game is seeing Miami’s score and that Messi missed a PK

I think the Bruce experiment needs to come to a conclusion..oldest coach in the league....next year he is even older..tough to watch

Tonight’s attendance is 50,978, the largest crowd for a stand-alone game (i.e. not part of a doubleheader) in San Jose Earthquakes history.

Is it his age, though? Or not having anyone at Bouanga or Son level?

Besides, wasn’t he given more than one season to turn around his previous several teams?

We left in the 70th. Figured subbing in Josef was like throwing in the towel. Plus we were really cold, didn’t bring jackets and the wind was strong.

Josef played well and contributed to our 2nd goal at least with his attempted bike that scared the defense, and I think he skied for a header on goal, and won a free kick outside the box.

Well, the Quakes actually played pretty well after getting shell-shocked to start the game. They were the better team after 20' but it's a small consolation. I don't think it's that "LAFC stopped trying". They were willing to give us the ball and go for the counter but they didn't get anything going until the end on that 4th goal when Ricketts over-committed.

I thought Judd had a good game.

Why Harkes and Costa continue to play is beyond me.

Rodrigues was pretty terrible early in the game, as was the whole team, but I place the blame partly on Bruce for that one. He freezes the guy out for weeks - he's not even on the bench, and then he has to come in and start a huge game cold. I guess he didn't have much choice. Roberts is out injured, Flioriani's not very good, and Wilson is too slow to deal with Son / Bouanga.
