I don't understand why they made this a 5:30 game. Pretty much guarantees that a majority of folks in the stand will have the sun right in their face...

Korean-Mexican fusion is a big deal, especially in LA. This would be the game for that. Personally I'm good with just Mexican. Not a big fan of kimchi or Korean beef, though I'm fine with Korean tofu soup and bimbimbap.

 

Our wingbacks will just turn into full time flank fullbacks making it a 5 back...with Jones and whomever Bruce puts in there...I'm not crazy about espinoza going back to wingback...just not enough defensive presence or awareness for me...If you just want to lock down a guy speed for speed I'd give Bouda a shot as leftside wingback. He can actually play D, no worries, he has speed and grit. If Benji is ready you can play him at RWB and flop Jones. If we try to play an open game with our current musical chairs 3 back of creaky vets and rooks, we'll get destroyed by Son and Bouanga. This might be the game Bruce tinkers with his defensive shape...maybe a preview for the rest of the season.

 

The problem with Bouda at LWB is that he's naturally an attacking player. Yes he'll track back but he doesn't have the positioning experience to know how to limit the number of times he gets caught out. If he's there, yes he can play D. But you can't be 2 places at once and he's gonna naturally favor attacking. It's fine under certain game states as a sub, as in the Austin game when you're down 2 goals. But I don't think it's a good idea to start him there.

 

Anybody that thinks that it won't be a huge Pro-Korean crowd for our match isn't watching the USMNT game today....lol

 

Who is our center ref this Sat?

 

Son will have played on Sat and Tues, so will be his 3rd game in a week. He looked pretty tired by HT of the usmnt game. I predict he will be neutralized by fatigue on Sat

 

Fatigue is our best defender.

 

Four days rest, probably not an issue for him. He can at least play 60 or 70 minutes by which time he's skinned Wilson and Romney 3 or 4 times.

 

PRO has not yet released MLS assignments for matchday 33. Should be tomorrow, so I will report back. I thought I was the only one who cared about that stuff!

 

Lowell and I are big fans of home grown ref Joe Dickerson

 

I care more about who'll be calling the match, we always get the dregs when it comes to announcers.

 

He looks good in our kit!!

 

We can always shut off the announcers. The refs however can screw with the outcome of the game, and we've seen them do it.

But, I'll be in Salem Saturday night, watching Justin Hayward. I'll have to catch the game the next day on delay. Or maybe in the wee hours of the morning?
