Pretty exciting that the greatest soccer player to ever play the game is in San Jose and will be playing at little PPP...so glad they didn't move this one to Levi's. I'll be watching from Washington and looking forward to it. And thanks David Beckham for making it happen. Covering the chain link fencing in black plastic seems lame. Don't see how they can claim this is for safety reasons when crowds walk that way to and from the stadium, on gameday. Not sure why they'd do that for this one. Go Quakes!
Sharks opponents started staying there a few years back, and then Quakes opponents followed suit after the downtown Fairmont shuttered. My understanding (from my barber in the former Fairmont) is that the NHL players found Santana Row more engaging than downtown for nightlife.
lol...this is the greatest game in the history of Quakes soccer, just ask the Quakes FO. Never mind those two cup finals, the greatest comeback ever, etc., etc.
I guess not only the pink ones. There will be those with light blue/white stripes and dark blue/burgundy stripes. And I hate all those teams.
After all, if Nancy Thomas’ neighbor’s kids go to bed at 8:30pm on Saturday evenings, what time do they go to bed on Wednesday evenings? GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
A true superstar would hang his own kid over the balcony railing... @falvo just posted this at the top of the page...but yeah, MJ was a strange one. Wonder what ever became of "Blanket?"
Days later, I'm still absolutely dying at Jordi Alba's 'defending' in Inter Miami's latest loss.He goes to quadruple team an opponent in the corner for no reason at all and leaves a giant gap in the middle of the field.Just all-time bad decision-making -- but peak comedy. pic.twitter.com/0egDC6BhuT— Joseph Lowery (@joeclowery) May 13, 2025
It's to block the view of the screen, probably because of the city wanting to prevent a crowd from gathering on the sidewalk and spilling into the street.
Well, if it's for public safety reasons, I suppose that's good. Not sure that this would block the screen view (since it's well above the fence line) and why not simply turn the street facing screen off, but maybe they'll do that too. Glad to see the city taking more of an interest in pedestrian safety.
I think the screen, as seen from the Epicenter area or whatever they call that area, is too valuable an asset for paid attendees. It'd be a bummer to turn it off.
Right? Did they ever fix the sidewalk there? People were tripping and falling the last time I walked that way.
