Biggest Game? That's total bullshit. We still only get three points for a win, so it's not "bigger" than any other game. And Miami are in the other conference, so it's not as important as say, beating Colorado in Colorado, or beating Portland, or beating LaF$ck. This is bullshit, and no one should be going to see the Quakes because they want to see a player on the other team. That's messed up. F#$% this! Go Quakesfans!!
This game is supposedly sold out. It will probably be closer to a real sellout than we’ve ever had at PPP except maybe for the inaugural game? Anyway we’ll see how PPP’s amenities and game day organization holds up when it’s actually full. I think we’ll be in for some unpleasant surprises.
I don’t know but if we see them walking out at 70’ that will be a beautiful thing unless they’re walking out because it’s 6-0 Miami and Messi has been subbed out.
Courtesy of @Gary Singh For those of you that still don't believe Messi is here, this is about as close as we can get. Police escort for the team bus. Wristbands for press to photograph the training session for 15 minutes. Private security and ominous black SUVs lurking. A little smaller than Camp Nou, but it's all we got. Everyone have a good evening.
Article about the game in SJ from the Inter Miami perspective, Mascherino talking a bit about the Quakes, Picault possibly out with a migraine, Suarez on a "personal trip" (possibly attending his brother-in-law's wedding??) and out for the game. https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/mls/inter-miami/article306255311.html
Remember when we played Chivas last year and we wondered what the percentage of Quakes vs. Chivas jerseys would be. And we thought maybe something like 20-80 or 30-70 Quakes-Chivas, and it turned out to be like 2-98 . Good times. I don't think it'll be anything like that, but there will be a lot of pink crap.
Kind of like the Cali-Classico game at Stanford, Beckham's first visit. There were 11 Beckham jersey's around me. I delighted in it when Beckham did his meltdown at the end of the game. Would love a reprise at Pay Pal Wednesday night, though Messi seems a much nicer fellow than Becks, who frankly is an ass****.
Or that first Becks game in Oakland, where you'd see a sea of camera flashes from the crowd every time he touched the ball. I think it'll be like that. Anyway, looks like he's gonna play, at least as a sub, and all of those who insisted he wouldn't play / travel were wrong (myself included ). I don't mind being wrong. If he didn't show up / play, it wasn't going to be fun listening to all the whining by people who paid steep ticket prices.
I guess that's the idiomatic translation because the literal translation is something a bit different.
“KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: San Jose vs Inter Miami CF” (SJEarthquakes.com - Monday, 5/12/25) GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
My guess is that only Suarez will be out for the game. Alba, Busquets, and Messi will probably all play. I think their plan is to get back on the winning track against a middling team.
If they wanted to get some rest during their road trip maybe staying at a hotel in a large outdoor mall was not a great idea.
