BS weeknight game to accommodate Leagues Cup. Karmic injury to Messi as a result. With any luck, Garber will trip over a ladder.

Heh that was gonna be my question. I think at this point Keith Richards is in some sort of living embalmed state. I don’t know how he’s alive after living the life he’s led. I think Mick is more health conscious. Both Keith and Mick are 80.
Coke, heroin, alcohol, I'm sure they all partook at some level, some more than others. STD's. Though their real lives may not be quite like their images. The irony is that the cleanest living guy (I think), drummer Charlie Watts, is already gone.
Makes you wonder if all that crazy wild stuff > healthy living lifestyle. Maybe they all died a half century ago and what we see today is bodies that didn't get the memo?
My expectations are extremely low. We should look a little better than last week, but that might not be enough for us to win. We need to hire a couple of sports psychologists, right away!! Most of the rock 'n roll stars of the '50's are dead. There's a few guys from the '60's hanging on, but they are really old. Most of my heroes of the '70's are either dead or retired. Unitopia made an album all about their health issues! The two founders both had serious heart attacks. The album is great, but painful to listen to. Some of the guys in the band are my age! I tell you, I'm looking into new bands, with members all younger than me, because I can't see many of my favorites anymore. Emerson and Lake are dead. Wetton and Squire are dead. Howe can barely play. Fripp has knocked Crimson on the head. Bruford and Jobson are retired. Claudio Simmonetti is in his 70's, but everyone else in his band is much younger. It's depressing! I need drugs!! Go Quakesfans!!
Yeah, that's why I said I think Keith Richards is living in sort of embalmed state. His body has actually been preserved in THC resin or something .
It wouldn't shock me. In fact it shocks me more that they haven't figured out how to bring back dead people. However I'm almost certain people are going to be paying 1000+ bucks to see holograms of musicians in the near future.
Yeah, last week was a huge disappointment. I thought we had a chance to turn the corner, but nope! And tonight's turnout is going to be really dismal and demotivating. A lot of great younger bands and musicians, some of them actually scary good. But the "scene" is so much more fragmented now. So many people making music it's hard to keep track. Back in the "old days" of A&R / record company / music industry control of what you heard, there was a much smaller number of well-known bands. Now there are hundreds if not thousands, many of whom are making music in their living rooms, and the whole A&R thing has been completely disrupted. My daughter has thousands of artists on her playlists. How does she even remember who these people are? It boggles my mind. It's a completely different paradigm.
Stones played their first shows in San Jose in 1965! 59 years ago. 1965! Not even Goodsie was born then! (Okay, I was, but I was 4yo lol) I've seen all their tours since '81. I remember my first time, Hampton, Virginia...we were packed in so tight, just three people from the stage, when I lifted my feet off the ground, I was suspended in the air. I remember thinking then that I was late to the party, and...my god Keef looks old.
Here they are playing in San Jose, 25 years ago... ...part of what made this 'No-Security' tour so great was that they moved the show inside, to a smaller venue...in San Jose! Their previous few tours had rolled through the Oakland Coliseum (Steel Wheels '89, just weeks after the big Quake, Voodoo Lounge and Bridges to Babylon, when Pearl Jam opened, and they introduced the giant digital screen which was a big improvement). They last played in SJ on their 50th anniversary tour, 2013. That night Bonnie Raitt joined them onstage, and John Fogerty, and former band member Mick Taylor, for a couple of songs. Their last appearance here was 2019, at Levi's. And, at these ripe old ages, you have to think this will truly be the last time... ...amazingly, if you've never seen them, you could grab a ticket now for $80. Reviews from coast-to-coast have been really good. This was scheduled to be the last stop on their tour, promoting their new album, but they added a last show in Missouri.
I'm not sure if that's her there, but their long-time female background vocalist, Lisa Fischer, is an incredible jazz singer in her own right. I saw her with pianist Taylor Eigsti at Stanford a few years ago.
