This sounds like the Fisher dream demographic. Willing to pay for tickets but know nothing and are thus utterly ignorant and uncaring wrt the actual performance of the team.

Not questioning the Ultras present, questioning why we give our fans a free bus pass when some decide to insult other teams fans.

Again Quakes fans are the same bird as everyone else.

But I didnt go to the game, and dont have a sellout Stanford bitch ass degree like the elite so what do I know. Im also racist.

I don't really care about any teams supporter groups other than when they're being disruptive/obnoxious/offensive/abusive (which has been the case with the Ultras at times as well as others). To me they represent a very small sample size of the entire crowd who come to games so I don't believe it's fair to judge the entirety of a team's fanbase on the basis of how their self-selected "superfans" comport themselves.

There weren't many ultras last night but they brought the energy as they do. It was a little bit sad though when the team went to join them in the cheer postgame and the number of players outnumbered the number of ultras.

    It looked that way.
But, if Jebo knows that he’s gone, who made that decision? We’re interviewing high-profile dudes (hpd), is one of them making the decisions? Or are the interviews just for show and we’re keeping CL?

Or, has Jebo decided that he wants out?

It’s a curious situation. But I agree. It looked like a Jebo swan song.

    Go Quakesfans!!

Oh but there were 50-75 of them... Guess they don't teach them how to count at Stanford.

Oh, but your not racist, according to Stanford. So your only disqualified partially. I'm 100% disqualified because apparently I'm racist. :D:D:D

Some of my best friends (and teammates) have been dumb Mexicans! Hell - my son was constantly mistaken for one when he was in HS (which wasn't such a great thing for him when it was the cops)...

There was a small group down near the bottom, then a gap and then a larger group of people closer to the top. I don't know if the folks at the top are ultras or just people taking those supporters tickets. Not sure if they were participating in the cheers.

Jamon posed the question - if you kept one of Yueill or Gruezo who would you keep? Robert said Gruezo :facepalm. Even if you think he's OK and a little better than Yueill (he's not), he takes up a DP slot and is making ~2x the $ that Yueill is.

Jamon said that you need at least one ball winner in the 8 or the 6 and neither Yueill or Gruezo fits that bill. I think that is correct. He also said that if we drop Yueill we need another starting 8, not to just give it to Niko, which I think is also correct. Niko should continue to be depth at this point until he shows more comfort moving to his right and using his right foot.

    Saw the game late.

    Verhoven looked better than previously.
    Wilson was rusty.
    Beason played OK.
    Great PK save by Daniel!
Espinoza and Hernán were both great. Jebo and Pelle were very good in their limited minutes.
I’m still not impressed with Niko.
I think part of Skahan’s role was to make FCKD’s backline tired. Jack was OK.
    Marie was OK.
Yueill was mediocre, and Gruezo was crap.

We have way too many injured guys. What’s up with that?

Coach Ian did well with a short hand and limited options.

I thought the PK was a bit harsh and the ref let FCKD get away with a lot of fouls. Still, not as shittynas somevrefs we’ve had this season.

I wonder if we’re going to hire a new head coach and GM?

    Go Quakesfans!!

It's too easy to use injuries as an excuse but we have had a lot, and it's been another challenge for Ian to deal with, besides just not having a very good team to begin with. One of the things that he should get some credit for is to breath new life into both Benji and Bouda, to the point where they were starting to help us. And then just as that's getting going - they both get injured. Add to this, Daniel in and out of the lineup, Akapo injury, Wilson's been out, Jebo was out for a while, etc.

Well, well, well. Quakes won a game and deserved it. Well, mostly...

Other than Yuell and Gruezo, everyone generally played well (Wilson was rusty). I didn't like the response after our first goal (sitting back too much) and their first goal was terrible play by Yuell and Wilson (marking space rather than a player in the box). The Quakes get too passive in the modern defense strategy of zone defense.

Even though they still tried to find a way to tie the game, they played better holding the ball and getting a third goal.

Niko was better off the bench, but was in the wrong place for corner defense that led to the Dallas second goal.

Congrats for those who attended in person and see you on Saturday for another win against RSL!

I have to agree with you about the Quakes too passive on defense. I understand playing like that on the road especially against tougher opponents (which is pretty much every other team this year) but at home I'd like to see us be much more aggressive. Seems like we invite the opposing teams to set up and control the tempo which puts us on the back foot defending much more than we should.

My roommates when I was in grad school were Mexicans who had gone to Stanford (one was still finishing her degree, the other had just graduated and was working at the university). I learned a lot from them. But Stanford graduates thousands of students a year -- some are great people, and others are insufferable.

So will this win over Dallas help build confidence for the remaining games and carry on to next season?
