I was gonna be happy with a draw. We were shaky tonight. Gotta figure out how to play well again. I think the key is better ball winning on 50/50’s. When we went down 2-1 we got it going but we needed it from the start.

And thus concluded the final home game until Wednesday, July 22nd against Orlando City SC.

There are now only two games left before the FIFA World Cup break (the league’s last such break): a U.S. Open Cup quarterfinal at the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday, May 20th, and a league game at the Portland Timbers on Saturday, May 23rd.

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! :(

We have too many games too close to each other. Hopefully, the new calendar next year will help.

We’re entering the era of 3 goals condensed including the late winner for our opponent.

The new calendar next year will assure that MLS won’t even need to take a break for the next FIFA World Cups (2030 in Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay, and 2034 in Saudi Arabia).

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! :(

Karma is undefeated. We’ve been good but also lucky at times, and now we’re not very good and unlucky.

The Quakes goals were sweet but this losing streak and draws are starting to sting.

Thank God for the World Vuo break!

We need a couple of pieces.

Judd was playing with a knock tonight.

We need an at least competent #10. Someone who can at least be a credible sub and spot starter. We are suffering without Niko. We need a backup to at least staunch the bleeding.

And we need a better backup for Judd. Nonso isn’t good enough.

And we need another d-mid who is better than Buck or Jona.

    Yeah, we need help.

    Go Quakesfans!!
    Be well!!

There are rumors that we’re adding Darius Johnson, the guy from Phoenix Rising who gave us fits in USOC. Seems like he could be good, but as a winger not sure he’s filling a position of most need. We have a lot of them - Timo, Bouda, Ricketts, Marie, Skahan, Fernandez can play there also, etc.

Even a good winger doesn’t make my list, unless he’s good enough to send one of our current players packing.

    And even so, I still want a #10, a #9, and a #6.

    Go Quakesfans!!

While Timo's out or injured or needs a break, he could play LW and that allows us to put Ricketts at LB. Not really enjoying seeing Romney or Jasinski there. But yeah, not my 1st positional choice for reinforcements.

BTW, looks like Darius Johnson has not been in the squad the last 3 Phoenix games - another clue, unless he's injured. And their fan podcast* mentioned that their understanding is that he's going to SJ, but nothing official. They said he was in street clothes at a recent game, and appeared to be kind of saying goodbye.

    * They were a little bit baffled that we went after Darius Johnson (if true) because he hasn't been that productive and his successful dribbling % has been quite low. And they thought - is this just because of that Open Cup game? Their sense was that we were basing our analysis on that one game and maybe that wasn't a representative sampling. I hope we scouted him more than just that one game. He did play really well against us.
