Actually, I think that is somewhat old news. An Argentine told me last week that the new government's efforts to reduce inflations have been working.
Lol, it went from 292.2% to 276.4% from April to May. I am sure the Argentines are dancing in the street now.
All I know is that an average Argentine told me that I was overreacting to the inflation numbers. The other thing I know from the U.S. economy is that there are many different ways to measure inflation and using only one measure is too simplistic to be truly meaningful. Back to Lopez.... Hopefully he is happy to be in the U.S., but it's not hard to believe that he did not understand how bad the team he joined is. That has to be demoralizing.
Garlic Nan was all smiles this evening while signing autographs for fans at the Epicenter during movie night. His demoralization, like the demise of Argentina, is greatly exaggerated.
The situation in Argentina not too exaggerated, the demoralization of Garlic Nan because he is playing in San Jose, greatly exaggerated.
Dude is living the life... And I'm sure he's most likely already bought his parents a new shiny home to live very comfortable with how much he's getting paid. Maybe after a couple of crap seasons he might start to moan but not anytime soon.
Hopefully the next few seasons are not as crap as this one. I’m sure the money’s nice but wouldn’t he prefer to play in Europe though? Also we don’t know his salary yet. Maybe in the 2M range?
Article mentions that you would almost certainly never see a hat trick scored in 10 minutes, then goes on to say "Provided the “you” in this case doesn’t have the misfortune to be a Quakes supporter. Then you’ve seen each of the last two times your team has taken the field." No, Luchi, it's not about controlling the moment. It's about never being satisfied with a one goal lead, especially at home. Interesting that the article is in Forbes, but maybe making Fisher looks stupid to business people will help him get rid of the team.
This was one game where we can’t really say that Luchi was parking the bus. At 2-1 we were still attacking and actually doing OK with it until that Cinci counter. Then I think we went into “here we go again mode”. And his last set of subs was a “do anything to try to get a goal” set of subs which of course can backfire and it did. We are versatile. We can blow a lead by parking a bus or by trying to add to it.
Okay, fine, I admittedly did not watch the game. But I was pretty turned off the moment is hiring was announced based on past results and his style of play.
That's great!! Late in the last two games, Luchi has pushed our CB's forward, which is stupid because Beason may well be the slowest player in the league. Mind you, I like Beason. But he's slower than hell. Anytime you set your players up so that Beason needs to win a footrace, you're conceding a goal or three. This is one of many reasons that Luchi needs to be fired. This season is a fiasco. It is a disaster of epic proportions. This shit is flat unacceptable. We need to fire Luchi's sorry ass right now, two months ago would have been good. Go Quakesfans!!
That play was like a carbon copy of a play against I think Minnesota where I think it was Reynoso who had the ball on our left wing, and evaded Gruezo's lame tackle attempt and passed to a streaking Pukki shell necklace who outran Beason to the ball and scored.
One thing that makes me sad... I really liked Yarbrough a few years ago when he was at Leon. I guess that was a few more years ago than I thought as it sounds like he's not doing to well for us.
Two sentences from the article in Forbes: "Because this is just the one of the worst points in a seven-year wander through the defensive wilderness that has been so stunningly consistent that MLS commissioner Don Garber should be worried about the appearance from the outside that one of his teams isn’t really trying." "Because it’s impossible to justify San Jose’s place as an MLS club at the moment, when the problem that has plagued them has been so consistent, unchanging and fundamental to the sport."
Even if The Fish doesn't read Forbes, he will hear about this, and they can't claim that the only unhappy people are the ignorant fans who don't understand big picture sports strategy.
Be careful what you wish for. Imagine being Fish and you’ve just spent about $10M on a player (transfer + salary) and it doesn’t make much difference in the results and then someone writes an article in Forbes saying you’re “not trying”. First thought, likely - “Well f that, I’m not gonna do *that* again!!”
