Agree it's not that hard. Out of 4 scenarios you posted they all ended in deceptions. Even when we we're top seed. So why should it be different now? Again I'm not trying to be mean I just don't understand why a few of you feel THIS time with our pathetic defense will be different. We haven't shown any consistency since maybe week 3/4 of the season but he'll yeah we were just waiting to barley make the playoffs to turn it on![/QUOTE]
Atlanta was the last seed in the east last year and beat Miami and then I think they lost to the 7th place RBNY who played in MLS Cup. But sure let’s just give up before we even try to go on a run.
“How the Earthquakes can climb MLS standings, secure a playoff spot on final day” (San Jose Mercury News - Monday, 10/13/25) Vancouver Whitecaps’ Tate Johnson, left, and San Jose Earthquakes’ Cristian Espinoza (10) vie for the ball during the first half of an MLS soccer match in Vancouver, British Columbia, Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025. Well I can guarantee that it won't happen if they don't qualify. So should they forfeit Saturday because a good playoff run is unlikely?
You guys are not getting what I'm saying. I guess it defeats the purpose of this site. Sure hope the Quakes qualify. Let's go!!!
You started the discussion with this: "Do we really want to make the playoffs the way we're playing?!? To go on the road and lose?" That's insinuating that making the playoffs is not something the fans should want, because of the likelihood of losing the next game. The alternative is not making the playoffs.
As I mentioned, I guess it defeats the purpose of this site. Which is going on & on about what ifs and playing with numbers to make the playoffs. We suck. We've sucked all season. Of course I want the Quakes to make the playoffs and make a run to MLS cup. Realistically?? No way in hell are we getting far in the playoffs (if we make it) that will make the season better. As a matter of fact we'll fall further back from drafting a decent player. Not that we're great at that either. I can care less if we win one game or whatever in the all mighty playoffs. We won't get far at all. Guess you're part of the group believing. Great. More power to you guys. I'd rather hear (although we won't from the FO) or talk about what we should be looking at to better our team. This version is not it. Not even close. Guess I'll go back to just reading and not commenting since it seems my point of view is considered negative. It just gets old repeating, rehashing scenarios that will amount to nothing. Because as the standings have showed us all yr. We suck.
I have pretty much no confidence in this team, but I like watching them win more than watching them lose. It's not more complicated than that.
And it wouldn't even be the playoffs, it would be a play-in game to determine who gets into the actual playoffs.
I often think about what a crappy job that is when we're down something like 2-0 or 3-1, which wasn't unusual this year.
I hear you bro. Even if we make the playoffs (very low chance in my view) we’re likely to get crushed in the first round. For Me, I would rather make the playoffs and get embarrassed 5 or 6 to nil than not make the playoffs. I do not fear humiliating losses. Getting exposed teaches us where and how we need to improve. Better to make the playoffs and get wiped out than to not make the playoffs. Go Quakes!! Go Quakesfans!!
Quincy will be great, but maybe we could have gotten Quakes Decision Day hero Marco Ureña. He's still playing - in Costa Rica, after a year at LAFC, Costa Rica, and brief stays in South Korea and Australia.
