It's not because he's highly rated in his age group. That's what was meant by "highly rated". Of course you're not gonna rate a 16-year old who's not even a pro yet against the whole D1 league.

And you're welcome to join us here, especially if you're looking for a perpetually bottom dwelling team to support. Our weather is great though!
Yeah, @feyenoordsoccerfan, join us here at the bottom. Misery loves company, and our company has dwindled to about 10 people.
Haha, Feyenoord fans are known sufferers. Feyenoordfans have a long history of both triumphs and disappointments, which often leads to a sense of suffering and virtue. The club has a very emotional and loyal following. Despite the ups and downs in the performance on the field, the fans continue to support their team. Why this suffering Is a characteristic Feyenoord won some important prizes, including the UEFA CL ('70) UEFA Cup and several Dutch titles. However, my club has also experienced long periods with less success, which has led to disappointment. Close-knit community Feyenoord's supporters are known for their loyalty. This strong sense of community means that even the lesser times are endured together. Cultural significance The suffering of the fans is often a theme in the stories surrounding the club, and has contributed to the identity of both the club and the supporters. Feyenoord fans therefore have a unique bond with their club, shaped by both good and difficult times.
Then sounds like you are a good fit for being a Quakes fan . There are a lot of similarities there, though I wish we'd do less whining and a little more embracing of the suffering and the building of community.
We may want to wait until the sale happens (if it happens) because it could in theory change the trajectory of the team.
Unless the A’s stadium in Las Vegas gets into deep financial trouble, I have a feeling that Fisher will not sell the team. Maybe he’ll sell minority shares, but he’ll remain in charge for probably the rest of his lifetime. We should just go ahead and change the tagline.
Yes I think we need to be open to the possibilities: 1) sale to an owner who keeps the team in SJ, 2) sale to an owner who moves the team, and 3) no sale (or minority sale). Three things can happen, two of them are bad, just like ex-Ohio State coach Woody Hayes said about passing the football.
I wonder if the Fish was just floating the idea of selling to see how much he could get for the team. Like taking your grandfather's watch to the jeweler to get it appraised.

Just curious.... Anyone know how many long-term academy players (or rather 5+ year spot of starters ) have stuck with the Quakes since 2010, the inception of the program? Please don't list Tommy Thompson.
Yes, but at that point, the academy, will not have served its sole purpose. Or rather, to develop players for the senior squad.
Is that really the only purpose though? Jesse Fioranelli said that we want to be a “selling” team. Teams like Dallas and Philly don’t necessarily keep their HGs much, they sell them.
