"NEWS: Earthquakes to Host 2017 Jersey Unveil Party at San Pedro Square on Feb. 16" (SJEarthquakes.com - Wednesday, 2/1/17) GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
(From this thread): There was a series of rumor posts a few days ago on reddit (which has since been deleted) that stated that the upcoming 2017 San Jose Earthquakes primary uniform would look similar to (and was perhaps even inspired by) Nerea Palacios' conceptual renderings from a few years back: She had made two other San Jose Earthquakes conceptual primary uniform renderings at the time as well, but the reddit poster wrote that the one above was the inspiration for the upcoming primary uniform. One way or the other, it appears that we'll officially find out what the team's upcoming new primary uniform will look like by the middle of this month. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
I find the first one I could live with, but the other two (especially the socks) would make a decent replacement for ipecac.
I don't mind the hoops. I'm also fine with a predominately black jersey, but I'm done with the offset "fault line" concept...just make it clean and sharp...no gimmicks.
I really like one and three. I haven't bought any team merchandise since the crappy new crest was unveiled, but I would definitely buy either of those jerseys. The first one would instantly become the best design the Quakes have ever worn in their entire franchise history (as long as the inevitable Adidas stripes don't screw it up too much)... I'd love to see both, keep one exactly as it is, and for three replace either the blue or black with white... We'd go from a string of uninspired jerseys to one of the best pairs in the entire league.
You're showing your age there, old man. No one adjusts their digitial HDTV anymore! Looks like I wont be replacing my jersey anytime soon....
please keep in mind, these are fan prototypes, because nothing New Balance, Under Armour, or Nike would be leaked out of the Adidas sponsored MLS.
Not bad. Sutter Health is a little large and their script / logo is very blah but otherwise I'd be OK with this one. Should not wear in Houston in July.
That's not bad at all. It's distinctive, and probably wouldn't look too shabby matched with a decent pair of jeans (some of us pay attention to these things you know!).
Better than what we've had.. has a distinctive look by incorporating the diagonals/chevrons/whatever they are called. But that certainly has a cheap replica look to it, I hope the authentic has a better quality feel (oh, and stars!)
Don't love it, don't hate it. I like the fan done mock up number 1 better myself. But I do agree with everyone saying it's quite unique. And the tie in with the crest is excellent. So, that's something. Shorts will be black I assume.
Last season I bought two 2016 authentic primary jerseys even though I pretty much knew that it was the last year of that jersey's 2-3 year Adidas design cycle. Even though there was just one more year to go then before the new primary jersey would be released, one of the best jerseys in San José pro soccer history became the best one with the addition of a respectable jersey sponsor, so I figured what the heck. As it turned out, it was a wise long-term investment. After seeing the pics today of the 2017 San Jose Earthquakes primary jersey (albeit of a replica rather than an authentic), it's now clear to me that last year's purchase will have been my last Earthquakes jersey purchase for at least the next 2-3 years (unless they introduce a version during that time of the upcoming one with the black and blue inverted, of course) and that I'll likely be wearing my 2016 authentic primary jerseys for quite a while longer.
