Pepperdine, led by SeaLions Emily Wynne and Kayla Stolte, beat No. 3 Santa Clara on Sunday! That's the third time since 2002 that the Waves have beaten the highly-regarded Broncos. Stolte posted the shutout, her fifth of the season (story at www.sealionsoccer.com).

SeaLion Carrie Schmit scored Texas' only goal to give Coach Petrucelli his 100th D-I win (www.texassports.com), and Emily Wynne had an assist and Kayla Stolte another win for Pepperdine in the Waves' 2-1 victory (www.pepperdine.edu) yesterday. And on Wednesday Jojo Idom scored 2 goals for CalBaptist. The week before, Kristen Koehrn scored 2 goals in Davidson's win over Wofford.

    SeaLions have a "friendly" scheduled:
    -----
SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego WFC SeaLions (www.sealionsoccer.com) will be playing the British Army Medical Services Ladies Soccer Team on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. at Hickman Field.

The AMS Ladies Soccer Team are on a United States Tour, featuring matches across the country designed to promote women’s soccer and provide a respite from the rigors of the ever-increasing operational commitment of Her Majesty’s Forces.

Formed in 2004, AMS Ladies Soccer Team was a founding member of the British Army Ladies Inter-Corps Football League. The League is comprised of one team from each of the 8 Corps in the British Army. AMS is made up of ladies serving within the Army Medical Services Corps (Medical, Dental, Nursing, and Veterinary practices).

“This is also an opportunity to make acquaintances and friendships through the world language of soccer,” said Warrant Officer Steve Southam, AMS Team Manager and organizer of the Tour.

In 2004 AMS Ladies finished 2nd in the League, and in 2005 the squad finished 5th. The San Diego WFC SeaLions earned a WPSL Final Four berth in July.

This was posted today at the SeaLions' site (www.sealionsoccer.com):

"Six SeaLions earned Conference honors for their College soccer teams this fall.

Texas Captain Carrie Schmit (Grossmont HS) was named All-Big 12 First Team, and her Longhorn teammate Jill Gilbeau (Patrick Henry HS) was named Academic All-Big 12 First Team. Schmit scored 6 goals and picked up 7 assists on the season from her defensive position. Gilbeau notched 2 goals and 2 assists, helping the Longhorns into the 3rd round of the NCAA Tournament.

Nebraska's Ali Lokanc, who was Gilbeau's teammate at Patrick Henry, was also named Academic All-Big 12 First Team. She added her first career assist after sitting out her freshman year with an injury. Goalkeeper Jamie Klages started every game for the Huskers and posted a 1.10 goals-against average in the tough Big-12 conference.

Pepperdine's Emily Wynne (University HS) was named All-WCC 2nd Team, scoring 5 goals and earning 10 assists. Teammate Samantha Hire (Christian HS) scored her first Wave goal, to go with 3 assists, and Goalkeeper Kayla Stolte (West Hills HS) held opponents to less than 1 goal per game with a miniscule 0.93 goals-against average.

Cal Baptist's JoJo Idom and Monica Lydon were named 1st Team All GSAC. Idom, who is headed to Pepperdine next season, led all SeaLions with 9 goals and 7 assists, and Lydon added an assist.

Deserving of All-Conference honors was Davidson's Kristen Koehrn (Francis Parker HS). The Junior forward led her Wildcats into the SoCon playoffs with team-highs in goals (7), assists (3), shots (58) and points (17)."
