I wasn’t a fan until I watched the video. Plus SD is so laid back that names like Ultras, Brigade, Black Plague (what the few 1904 FC supporters call themselves)... just don’t fit.
Here’s a question... who do you think could potentially end up as a rival for USL SD? I won’t say who WILL be our rival as that is presumptuous and ignores that real rivalries develop over time. I mean proximity and ease of fan travel could lead to OCSC as a rival I’d think. Anyone else?
Las Vegas Lights, they have our own Eric Wynalda as their coach. Fresno would be a good bet too....SDSU and FSU are rivals so that could develop too.
Just got a call from the club and it looks like they are making an announcement the first week of Nov (should be name and colors). Hopefully they do it early in the week as the Padres are looking to release the new jerseys on Nov 9

I hope they start some identity teasers leading up to it and stream the event. So far the only thing I've heard is that the name isn't going to be United. Nothing else on the names, colors or crest yet.
That sucks....growing pains. Their marketing staff seems very inexperienced and hopefully it polishes up as the season draws closer.
I mean that’s a big leap to make off of one slightly less informative than it could be email. Overall they’ve been pretty on point with their marketing arm for a team that’s only been together a couple of months.
