In today's edition of the San Diego Union-Tribune it said:

Four months ago, the Milwaukee Rampage won the A-League title. Today, it's gone. In yet another blow to the financial stability of American soccer, the second-division champs announced they were folding and re-emerging under the direction of the Milwaukee Wave of the indoor MISL. The team will be called Milwaukee Wave United and as new head coach Art Kramer went to great lengths to point out: "This isn't the Milwaukee Rampage. It's Milwaukee Wave United, a new team." And it's not the Milwaukee Wave, either. Keith Tozer, who will oversee both indoor and outdoor operations, said only "three to five" players from the indoor Wave will be considered for Wave United even though the MISL and A-League seasons generally don't overlap. It is an interesting concept, running separate indoor and outdoor teams with the same management and some of the same players – something Sockers owner David Altomare is said to be watching closely.

That most likely means he wants to go to either the MLS or the A-League. Hehe, I'd watch out for San Diego...they've won 10 championships in their 20 year existence. :)

In reality it's 20 years of teams/organizations with the name of the San Diego Sockers. There were several different ownership groups when they were in the NASL and MISLv1. And the another group in the CISL, and then group shut the team down and then another group brought them back in the WISL. It was this group that is there today in the MISLv2. It should also be pointed out that of those 10 titles, none was outdoors. I believe that the higest finish in the NASL was making the conference finals.

The most recent organization that tried to do both indoors/outdoors seasons was the Montreal Impact. It wasn't a good result for them both on and off the field.

They actually had only one outdoor championship. But since they were more successfull indoor they stuck to that. Now it seems like they want to go back out for whatever the owner's intentions are.

    Outdoor Championship?

Just curious, in what league did they win a outdoor championship. Because it wasn't in the NASL. Below is a link to a list of all of the NASL Champions and playoffs. They did make the confrence finals in '79, '80, and '81. But not to the final.

And they have not playd in any of the different outdoor leagues (WSL, APSL, A-League, D3/PSL) since then.

Their website said it was in NASL. Maybe they meant the indoor division part or something.
