He is not talking about Houston 1836, he is talking about the Dynamo Supporter Group, the Texian Army. http://texianarmy.com/ I was one of the people who helped organize the Texian Army back in 2006. We have not gotten any flack about the name Texian Army from the anti-1836 group but we aren't dependent on sponsors the way the team is. We would not like it if the Spurs used that name and they might run into problems with sponsors even though it isn't exactly 1836.
Then just call them the "San Antonio Texans FC". However, I would be proud for them to be called the Texians.
Maybe. Texans, of course, is being used by the Houston NFL team and there is a huge youth organization, Texans SC, that has been around for over 30 years with teams all over the state including Dallas, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio. They even have teams in Florida and Canada. Why are you proud to call the San Antonio team Texians? Or are you saying we should be proud? That is not likely.
Actually, I own property in Austin. Planning to build my retirement home there. For what its worth here's a an idea for the San Antonio Defenders FC.
I think being a Austin-tonian is worse than being from California in SA eyes, but I'm just guessing on that.
