Since you guys are at the games, you probably wouldn't have any way of knowing this, but Andrés shows you lots of love during his broadcasts. You usually get two or three mentions, with one including references to your loyalty.

Furthermore, during the game w. New Zealand, they showed the necessary shot of the teenage boys with U S A painted on their chests, and Cantor said something along the lines of "That is NOT Sam's Army, they have better taste."

those kids are at about every usa match in dc i have ever been too. i find it hilarious that they always have USA on their chests. always.

Just as an addition, SAMS army was not the biggest group there, DC United fans were. Notice how we got DC United chant going and 80% of the people went along :D

But alot of the dc fans are SA or USA Supporters members also.

Yeah that was the one thing I was uncertain about. I had thought -Ive seen it mentioned here- that its bad form to bring your club allegiance to a Nats game. Not taking a position on the issue-just asking. Though I suppose that as long as the focus is on the Nats it doesnt really matter

That makes sense as I was there and while it was obvious that most of us in attendnce were DC fans I didnt really hear too many chants. So its all good-
I was more interested in knowing the "rules" for future matches both national as well as DC since after standing with you guys I plan on trying to make many more DC matches this summer

thats great news. This is prob. the time where i advertise for La Norte. so here it goes. : if you want to support your team more than anything, La Norte is your bet. We concentrate more on supporting United with our voices and with our drum than with our tailgate parties. LaNorte is not the biggest group by far, for that, Barra Brava or Screaming Eagles are your bet. La Norte is like a family, we love United and we are quality not quantity. We are the ones with the streamers and confetti behind the goal.
For information about our group go to www.lanorte.com
or check out our message boards by clicking the link at the bottom of my Signature. sign up and talk about dc.

There is no joining fee as we are dedicated to DC fans and dont think that true fans should have to pay to sing with each other. We are getting more and more club stuff every year. Get involved and be DC's 12th man

there is a difference between singing dcunited during a match and while the player who saved your club is warming up.
I understand extremitiesl. But in a less severe way, wearing a club scarf or jersey to a match is perfectly legit in my eyes, as long as someone from your club is on the nats. Supporting your team, IS supporting the nats as Most of the players come from our league. What I cant stand is when people show up at USMNT and MLS matches wearing England Nats or Foreign club shirts. All the kids you see in Juventus, ManU, Leeds, Liverpool, Roma and Inter shirts. ahh

also, read the my response to the post you were responding to.

So? If Howard was in goal or Mathis did something scored or something, would it make sense to sing Soy de Metro or C'Mon Metro?

    Or are you that dense?

All right, next time, if there's a US game in RFK, and me and some NYC guys are sitting in the LaNorte section during the game (not after, which is acceptable) Mathis does something nice or Howard, or even Pope, we'll sing Metro songs loud, like we always do.

See what I mean? Again with the club n' country $hit.

Anything else? Or are you through?

I didn't notice any "DC United" chants during the game. They were chanting it afterwards and were chanting "Bobby Convey" while he was warming up, but I don't remember anything specifically DC during the game itself (the closest thing was cheering for Ryan Nelsen when he was introduced and chanting "LA bastard" when Simon Elliot got subbed out).

How? he played for the other team. Would "sheep ************er" have been more fitting?

Sam's Army also chanted Cory Gibbs and Joe Cannon's names when they were warming up. Its kinda hard to chant DaMarcus Beasley.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I believe that it should be country before club always.

wow i wish i had seen this back when it was posted. haha
no one was chanting DC UNITED, unlike the rhythmless slobs you associate with, we in dc are capable of coming up with chants on the spot, even as simple as BOBBY CONVEY! dun dun dundundun

i gave a legitimate reason to support your clubs players during a nats match and you gave an illegitimate reason. so basically your argument was absolutely worthless and i actually feel dumber now.

    thanks.

Wow. That's the best chant I've ever heard. Truly, it is one that rivals all the clubs in the entire history of the Beautiful game.

    [/clapping]

Watch it tho, TFC fans will say you stole it from them...

you understand sarcasm i am surprised. that says alot seeing what team you support. you obviously have more brains than your comrade rksehga who claims to be a dc fan living in NYC, but in fact he is just a fairweather loser who would be supporting the MetroDonkeys if you guys had actually won anything of note in your entire existence.

Dude, I routinely make the trek down to DC for United matches so don't ever call me a fairweather anything you tosser.

If you think it hasn't been the ESC guys leading the cause at USMNT games then you have probably not been to may USMNT games. Credit where credit is due. go troll somewhere else.

    Section 101
A club/team anthem should never be sung at a Nats game. It's dumb, unneccesary, and likely to cause problems within the SA section.

In order to keep all the egos and issues in check, keep it country related and move on.

Come to NY or New England for a Nats game and if there was a chant pro RB or pro Revs, you would not like it at all. In fact, you'd probably be pissed.

The fact that a 4 year old thread was dug out of the woodwork is priceless too.

Dude, you waited four years . . . FOUR YEARS!!! to bring this smack and dude is right back at ya in a couple of hours. Holy shit -- this has got to be one of the most amazing threads I've seen on BS -- and the smack is rather sophomoric really -- you'd think after 4 years it would be something rather amazing. What the hell was going on here -- how much time you must have had to look back 4 years ago and figure out what the hell was going on. Dude, W. was a popular president 4 years ago. WTF is up with this thread!!

perhaps the more appropriate pic here (especially in light of the timing) would be:
