The clueless TV director continues to show a bunch of Bremen fans (average age: 14) jumping despite the chant clearly being 'canterò forza Sampdoria'...kudos to your fans who made the away trip.
Pazz off the post. Poli in. Fritz rolling around on the ground and the ref buying it. Cassano still can't make the final pass...well that was a nice one to Seminoli C'mon Samp!!!
Well, it's going bad 2-0 for Werder Frings with the goal from a penalty. A little soft, but can't complain with the ref's decision. Samp down to 10. haha 3-0 for Werder
Harsh result but Samp completely fell apart after the first goal (btw, if you wanna defend a 0-0, which is a very sensible plan, you can't make silly mistakes like Tissone's)...an away goal maybe would help, but it doesn't look likely.
Deserved goal, at least you have some chances....Werder didn't look that special till Lucchini got sent off. PS: Werder fans outsang for the whole 90 minutes, pathetic home support.
Without that goal there was no chance but at least theres a flicker of hope. 2-0 at home will be tough.
Agreed...sounded like a baseball game after all their goals...woot woot GO TEAM It aint over yet. Pazz looking real dangerous. 2 goals(1 offside obvs) and a post.
Really disappointed with Palombo. Having Tissone next to you can't help, but Palombo gave the ball away way too much.
Well, Inter winning CL last year did help quite a bit. Unfortunately they were the only Italian club in Europe that was even worth a damn though...
Bremen 3-1 Samp Cassano was the one who could make the difference and he had a poor game. He didn't get much protection from the ref but there were times were he slipped or got dispossessed easily. He looked too much for the pass and he probably should have dribbled more than the two or three times that he did. He needs to be much better at home and he must play well for three reasons: 1. Sampdoria's CL place is at stake 2. Italy's coefficient is at stake 3. If he is to be an impact player for Italy, he needs to star in matches like this There's so much riding on this game and if Samp go out, it shows that calcio is going more backwards and in this tie, one man can make the difference, positively or negatively. Tissone is a liability. I didn't think that Palombo was that wasteful as llewelyn says but Poli should have started. He was great last season and Tissone plays like a nervous wreck. I don't know what Del Neri saw in him when they were at Atalanta. Tissone may have been OK defesively but he was atrocious when he had the ball. Pazzo didn't do much but when he had a chance, he posed a threat. It was a great header by him and he needs better supply in the second leg. Simple. Guberti and Stankevicius played well when they came on. Stankevicius set-up the Pazzo goal and Guberti had two chances. Both players must start in Genoa. Lannoy was terrible. He let the Germans play very physically. The offsides and penalty were fair calls but other than that, Bremen were too physical and whenever Samp got physical, they got cards. Good call by mattteo. I thought I was imagining things but there were more Sampdoria fans that Werder fans and the Italian chants were louder. Bremen did well without Ozil and without starting Marin. Fritz got physical but he is good in joining the attack. I agree with Duck though. Sampdoria can still win 2-0 at home. It will be very tough to keep Bremen scoreless but with the home support behind them, if Stankevicius, Poli and Guberti start and if Cassano plays a much better game, we are in with chance.
So even if Sampdoria go through, do you think it will go anyway? Personally, it feels like the whole world wants Italy to lose that spot.
No doubt. German clubs will need to have a completly disaster season for Italy to keep that last spot.
It must be the criteria that considers the performances from the last five years. It's doubtful that the Germans will have a bad year and it's even more doubtful that the Italians can do well in the CL and Europa League. Palombo thinks that Sampdoria can expose Werder's flaws: http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsle...451.html#palombo+identifies+bremen+weak+spots Almeida is out for Werder: http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/news/newsid=1516945.html#almeida+absent+sampdoria+trip He will be loss for them but if it was Pizarro, then they would really be concerned. They still have Rosenburg (I think) and this might be a chance for Arnautovic to start.
