This went off the boil. Was looking pretty promising there for a bit.

New club, thread title could use an update. Sad but true, this is the YA Match of the Day, so watch the Champions League instead.

Watched the first half in the background. He had two simply fantastic chase-down shot blocks from behind that would have made LeBron proud. Other than that, a couple turnovers and they're being outplayed, but he was a standout performer for the half.

Briefly injured by a ball to the nuts in the 80th, and then beaten by his man on a near post run as they finally conceded in the 82nd. 1-0.

Full time 1-0 loss. Only two points from their first four matches. Defense was good, but Sam and about three others could have done better on the goal conceded. He played well overall.

Sam starts a cup match against fourth tier Elverum, whom I assume are basically amateurs. 3-1 halftime lead.

Finishes a 4-2 win and they advance in the Cup. Why did they concede 2 to a fourth tier side? Not the greatest reflection on the defense, methinks.

Played the whole match of a 3-1 win. Opponent was one of the top teams in the second tier. They conceded on a corner; Rogers not mentioned in a match report I skimmed.

Sam steps straight into the starting lineup, listed on the right of a three man backline but I know nothing about this squad. This is a relegation six-pointer against Sandnes Ulf.

As bshredder posted above, he's on loan to Aalesund - suggested title change:

Sam Rogers at Aalesund (on loan from Lillestrom)

Sam's first match: 90 minutes, 2-0 shutout, yellow card, move up to 12th place (out of 16). Perfect.

I thought he would have progressed a couple of years ago when he was playing for Rosenborg and scored 6 goals one season as a defender. I’m not sure if he’s “just” Scandinavian Leagues level or he has regressed a bit, but he’s still just 25. Tim Ream was a late-ish bloomer as well.
